Hypothetical "Age of [Insert random mortal here]"
« on: July 11, 2013, 02:32:02 am »

There are occasionally ages where specific mega-beasts and titans and demons and such are dominating the world and generally wreaking havoc.
Well, What happens if a random Dwarf, Human, Elf, Carp, Badger, heck, a Duck gets a massive kill feed and starts dominating the world?
Will it consider it "The age of (Mortal's name)?"
Or will it be based on race? E.G. Age of the Duck.
Or will it be something else? E.G. Age of Civ's / Age of Death (for animals)?

It will be "The Age of (racename)". I've got many Age of Goblins through that. Once I had a world where humans and elves were wiped out during first hundred years, and then it begun to switch between Age of Dwarves and Age of Goblins. Both sides had a legendary killer-hero (goblins had a demon) and age switched always when other of them did something remarkable.

Urist McHerodude has slain a level 505 chicken. AGE OF DWARVES HAS BEGUN

Goblin McAntiherodude has slain a level 507 chicken. AGE OF GOBLINS HAS BEGUN.

That is how I imagine this situation :P

You could always mod a Duck to have adamantine beak and a slade body, and see what happens in previous releases. The current one has a post-worldgen respawning that actively limits depopulation and other heroic feats, and creatures only die of old age, and when they don't then they become unkillable, endless vermin, like goblins and elves. It requires moderate modding to find them, or just regen a few worlds until they don't exist anymore.
