I get the feeling we have managed to make a Void cat or something, since the elementals hate it.

You grab the cat, and run from behind time as fast as you can. Much property damage ensues from you just burning a path coreward through the city and the elementals following/expanding your path. Eventually you make it back to the academy walls, and the elementals soon after bounce off of them and grind to a halt. You put the cat back down and it walks off back into town, unimpressed by the massive property damage or giant flaming elementals.

Grab the cat again and take it into the Academy, to something... cat-luring. Food, a comfortable place to sleep, whatever.

Give the cat to someone who knows about elementals. Tell them we totally just made a burning trail of destruction through town by turning the cat into metaphorical catnip.

You pick the cat back up, and while its eating you go ask Rind about it. Looking at it, they tell you in is not infact a void cat. It is just a completely non-elemental cat, which irks nearby elementals because its not a normal cat at all and they had no idea what it was there for. He also recommends that you blame the cat for all the damage if anyone asks.

Since the elementals left after a few minutes of there being nothing to do, you decide to go check out outside of town. Which direction to go in, though?

Practice our pyromancy (on wildlife) during the journey. As in; figure out how far away we can hit them from, to what degree we can control the temperature of the flame. Anything else? I can't think of any.

As you practice hitting things with fireballs on your way east atop the Robutt, you finally reach the Ridiculous Mountains. The first thing you see it a giant bird with a large numbered sign hanging off it. It flies over near you.

"Haak! 75 adventurers failed today!  What be youak!"

The sign on it does indeed appear to have 75 tallies on it. This is either a rather distressing prospect or an amusing one, considering how close you are to a city and how much of the news on slow days revolves entirely around adventurers. You could probably hit the bird from here with a fireball.
