These pillars look invisible
« on: July 09, 2013, 04:21:42 pm »

The bug tracker won't give me my email confirmation message, but I really need an answer to this.

When you make walls / smooth stone, sometimes the ends of it look like pillars (not the support pillars), which are represented with the letter 'O' IIRC.
Well, I can't see any pillars. Even if I build 1x1 walls, which are supposed to come out as pillars, they come out invisible.
I don't know if this is a problem with my configs, which it shouldn't, since I downloaded it straight off the main page and all I changed were the colors and the tileset.

Here's a picture of what I'm seeing:
(Towards the bottom of the center room, you'll see the wall abruptly ends)

I would assume its a problem with your tileset, or its improperly installed.
But I don't do tilesets, so maybe someone a little more knowledgeable can come along and help.

Actually, I've just remembered I merged over a clean DF over my old installation in an attempt to save my worlds. Turns out, copying over the init.txt and d_init.txt over from a clean DF fixed it.
Thanks for your help though!

The init files (think it was one of them...) warn against merging installations. Would be best to just manually adjust the settings in init and d_init (and embark_profiles etc.) each time.

And it sounds like your problem was 1 setting in d_init.txt: [PILLAR_TILE:'O'] (in plain vanilla DF, tilesets and maybe even just LNP/PELNP can/will change this)
