Important question!

Is the sun's explosion a hardcoded game's over fade to black event, or does the game actually play through the process of destroying the system?

I once spent the entire 20 minutes flying away from the sun, and it did take me significantly longer to die than normal, so there is a shock wave going outward thing going on, as opposed to "bang, shake, bright light, restart." Beyond that, no idea.

Here's a little hint: There's a way to make the sun go supernova without the debug button.

Wait I'm an idiot it says right in the OP that it goes off after 20 minutes.
That was a long 20 minutes.

I flew so far out that I heard the explosion about half a minute before it killed me. (Alas, I couldn't see it from there, even facing the sun, although I saw some weird purple flashing right before it got me)

Amusingly, I got thrown out of my ship by unbuckling right before I hit something.

It's not actually. There was a comment wherever the link went or something where someone said it was 700 GB (and as far as I had seen, nobody had contradicted them).

Bramble Thorn was an unusual shock, especially since I came roaring towards it in my spaceship at a speed roughly equatable to a comet.
One of the local residents took a, heh, snap at me as I passed by while decelerating , and since I have no love for Deep Sea Adventures of Fun, I promptly sat and cried in the corner of my spaceship until I floated out the other side.
On the note of Deep Sea Adventures; did anyone figure out how to get to the very, very center of Giant's Deep? I managed to brute force my way into the watery core, but was stumped when I encountered the hard, very-most-definitely-center area. Not sure what to find there, other than the islands.

Yeah, I had a try at this too. Got really far away and smashed into the water, but never got very far in. I don't think you're supposed to, but the islands, weather and what's in the water are the things to see there.
This game is really good, and I only wish there could be more.

Well, you can get into the center water nucleus by flying into a counter-clockwise spinning tornado; there's a piece of literature saying as such on the icy-falling-apart planet. You just gotta look down and burn burn burn til you get there. I'm just having trouble getting to the very, very center. There's no way that mishapen rock isn't hollow.

Oh, shit son. Well then, I'll have to have a look at that. Read that literature, but that didn't quite clock, thanks.

You got eaten. :3

Yeah, the controls are confusing as hell. I tried remapping some, but it doesn't make them less confusing.

The telescope is clicking your middle mouse button / mousewheel. Open/close the map with m. You probably figured out the most common ones that are near your movement keys (f for flashlight, too, IIRC, and shift and control are thrust up and down). Space is the button for 'stop relative to target'.

I would have had less trouble learning the controls if the on screen hints showed the pc bindings and not just the pad bindings ><.

I had to take a break from it when I for the third time "paused" the game with escape to go check out what key was used for something and then had to restart the entire expedition because apparently esc is quit to main menu without any prompts what so ever...

Still fun though :)
