You feel around your face to make sure you're not seeing through some kind of blindfold. There are no blindfold. Your eyesight is quite normal.

With the saw you fish out one of the brown beads from the flame, and flick it to one of the room's corners. It cracked for a bit, then exploded into a small dust cloud. The cinnamon smell was nauseatingly strong.

Using the saw to slice into the wooden wall, it met with something that you suspect is stone. The saw is too wobbly to be able to pry out the splint.

Following the note's suggestion, you close your eye and concentrate on the properties of the saw. You are first aware of its physical properties, its weight, the steel, and then you feel the flow of the magic, and its instability in this realm.

Then streams of knowledge rush through you, soundless whispers.

>Attempt to turn the saw into a word, a word that enacts the power of a saw. As it is semi-stable, we should be able to turn it into a statement with the effect of cutting.

You attempt to TURN the saw into its basic aspect. However, the saw was enchanted by your colleague. Right now it can only be transformed into a readable object. A saw (saying), so to say.

Turn the saw (tool) into a  saw (saying). A saying of great magical power, preferably.

You TURN the saw(tool) into a saw(saying). The tool turns into a card. You find the same handwriting from the letter below the print.

This kinda reminds me of a dream I once had where I was walking around in a Dwarf Fortress, and I saw everything in RAW format.

Attempt to turn couch (furniture) into couch (saying)

Might as well chalk it up to Pathos.
As this point we might as well invoke interpretive dance and call it a day.

The two items are bound, and you are pretty sure fire and couch does not have any definition that equates to a saying.

Well there's literal fire and then there's internal fire, like the fire inside. Dunno about couches though. Yeah this is confusing.

Yeah, I'm confused now. Is there anything we can do with our saw saying?

((Okay. So apparently Rey's explanation wasn't very good.

Thing is, when you're dealing with unbound items, you can transform it into its synonym, or use the other meaning of its name. For instance, I can turn a Fire(phenomenon) into a Fire(action) and dismiss someone. Or I can turn a Leaf into a Blade.)
