Hands every opportunity, but just shoot em if there's any question combat's still undecided. Do we have any non-lethal weapons lying around?

"Non-lethal? I got salt rounds I never use, but those won't be knocking raiders out. I can try my best not to kill 'em with Maggy, I guess..."

"We have net guns here at the station you can borrow. The taser rifles I can't just give away, though."

"Oh, I think Marco sells foam guns. The ones that glue people's feet to the ground. Though that won't stop them from shooting us, if they have guns."

Take the net guns and head out.

Net guns sound like they'll do fine. At the very least, they'll let you go for them with Maggy and get to chose exactly what you want to break while they're tangled, Bud.

Net guns sound like they'll do fine. At the very least, they'll let you go for them with Maggy and get to chose exactly what you want to break while they're tangled, Bud.

"Yeah, that sounds good."

"I'll grab a couple for you guys," the guard says, walking into the building. He soon returns, netguns in hand. "Here ya go." He tosses a gun to you and Bud. It's a cumbersome thing, but well made. "They're each loaded with two nets. That'll bag you a few raiders, I think."

"Mhm, this'll do nicely. Let's head out, Guy." With that, you two leave the safety of J-3 and begin the walk to the scrapyard.

Bud leads the way, humming as he walks. He tells you of a few jobs the team did together back in the day. "We were a well oiled killing machine. Man, nothin' could stop us. It just wasn't the same without you, Guy. Those two weeks you were gone? We did a couple jobs, but it just... wasn't the same. And after the others got captured... It's so much harder to kill things alone, ya know?" You pass by several of the large black rocks jutting out of the earth. They had a strange sheen to them, glistening in the sunlight.

You could see the yard in the distance. It had one large watchtower and several huge heaps of junk. A fence surrounded the area, but it was broken in several places. Bud takes cover behind a nearby rock and waves you over.

"If someone's in that tower, we'll be spotted if we go any farther. What's the plan, Guy?"

If we're seen, they'll likely alert the other raiders to our presence here, who would probably come to attack us. That might work in our favor, especially as once we bag one, he'll probably be screaming bloody murder anyways. Especially with you and Maggy coming after him soon after he's ensnared.

So really, two options leading to one, stand-up fight, by way of possible sentry in the watch tower or bagging someone and them alerting the rest before he's mangled into unconsciousness. The latter might have a better chance at drawing the others in without giving them time to set up any kind of trap or defense. The former, we probably won't be rooting out any that didn't hear the alert, since they'd probably hear a sentry's signal and pay attention to it.

Do we have to keep them alive, or just take their hands while they're alive?

Let's go with Pyrodesu's second plan. Sneak in, bag a guy and hurt him, then wait in ambush while his friends come running. Ask Bud what he thinks of the plan.

"Alright, so we should try to sneak in? We can go from shard to shard. Hopefully no one's in the watchtower... You want me to go first? Also, you want me to use us my nets before I use M and G?"

Do we have to keep them alive, or just take their hands while they're alive?

((They must be alive. But really, the guy won't be able to tell if they're still alive or not. Up until he finds their bodies in his yard.))

((Oh I see. Cut their hands and they can't do much anyways, so I think we can do this. I leave the details to the others.))

Only cut the hands off living ones. We keep our integrity- if he finds their bodies in his yard, (they didn't survive the double-amputation), he'll be able to see they didn't die from bullets.

((You guys know that that probably wasn't literal. "Hands" is probably just a way of saying kept alive... and useful.

No amputations.))

Once we find one alone, we net him and you break his legs. That ought'a make him scream. Then we take cover just out of sight and nab 'em as they come to find out what happened.

Let's go.

((It actually is literal. He wants them alive, but harmless. Killing them just means they'll be back in a month. If you take their hands away and Motax their wounds, they'll be a while before dying. They're usually too crazy to be used as slaves.))

"Alright, let's do this!" Bud takes the lead and moves from shard to shard, as he said. You follow closely behind, readying your netgun. There doesn't seem to be any yelling or alerting going on. You reach the front gate, already opened. Now you start to hear yelling... But it's more like cheering. Forging ahead, you two make your way towards the cheering. Soon, you come upon a group of raiders. All of them have a melee weapon slung over their back or at their sides. Two spears, one scrap mace, one knife. Four of them, gathered around a pit, cheering. You can't see what's in the pit from this angle, behind the scrap pile, but whatever it is it has them quite excited.

"Gore! Gore! Gore!" they chant.

"Should we net 'em?" Bud whispers.
