Buy the etf.exe and wait for the mission.

"You are very kind, sir. Thanks for the explosives, I'll drop in again some other day."

See how much a battery-powered drill costs, one that can drill into concrete.

While waiting, examine the more team-oriented features of the disk.

"This will do."

She hands over the grenade pump as you give her the credits. "That all?" she asks.

"I'm looking for information. On your former boss." She says simply.

"... Can't you read the signs?! 'Do not disturb'! That's 'Velehr dast' in your tongue!"

Buy the etf.exe and wait for the mission.

You already own it, sillyface! You rent a room at some motel and wait for the call.

"You are very kind, sir. Thanks for the explosives, I'll drop in again some other day."

See how much a battery-powered drill costs, one that can drill into concrete.

"I'll hopes you are whole when you come back," he says, returning to his work.

A power drill is much easier to find. You go to a hardware store and find a good portable drill for 45 C.

While waiting, examine the more team-oriented features of the disk.

The disc is linked to your teammate's discs. You can talk to them in both the PDA and earpiece mode. You can also track them, though that mode has to be turned on to work. What other features are you looking for?

See if there are any combat aids built in to the disk/earpiece. (Targeting systems, etc.)

Play around with the eft.exe

You mess with the program for a bit before finding a special command. 'simulate'. Running it, lines and lines of text appears. Half of it you can't decipher, the other half runs through the screen too quickly. Eventually, a final line appears. 'Alarm trigger// Ending simulation--'. You run it again, this time haphazardly entering in key commands. This gets you a bit farther, but eventually the simulation ends in failure.

Cross referencing similar commands from SeeThrough, and documentation on various websites, you find some commands are key. ST's 'Unlock' is equivalent to etf's 'knock'. 'Ping' is the same as 'check'. 'Force' is the same as 'jimmyjoe'...

After a few hours of playing with the simulations, you finally manage to conquer the first level of it. The program congratulates you with the line 'the loot is yours >:}'.

You feel you've learned something. But the more you learn, the more you learn you don't know. Are you ready for the next level?

See if there are any combat aids built in to the disk/earpiece. (Targeting systems, etc.)

You find there are no combat aids currently installed. However, this platform seems to be compatible with various programs for sale. A list appears with various software vendors. Thermal vision, assisted targeting, tag and track...

Buy power drill, go crash at Mom's house and wait for the call.

New power drill in hand, you retire to your home. Your mother seems excited when you carry in a new drill. She asks if you're actually getting a real job, maybe a wife, maybe a blah, blah, blah.

Check the price for the thermal vision upgrade, and more information on the tag and track software.

Check the price for the thermal vision upgrade, and more information on the tag and track software.

Thermal vision software costs 200, 360, or 1200 C.

Tag and track allows you to establish a subtle connection with a target's tech, allowing you to see them through walls and track their whereabouts for a time. You can even assign different colours to different targets. It'll cost you 350 or 600 C.

"If you insist. Just so you know, I'm working for your old boss now. Maybe I'll bring your name up in conversation, and he can tell me what I need to know."

With that, she leaves, but not too quick-in case he has a sudden change of mind.

Check the difference between the 360c and 1200c thermal softwares.

((That way of indicating credits looks better, I think... I'll use that!))

the 360c software is the tried and true HeatVis. It's compatible with many different visors and earpieces, universally acclaimed as the go-to heat vision software. Not quite as robust as the software made exclusively for thermal visors, but still good enough for most people.

The 1200c software is the premium Thermo Zen. Some say it's overpriced, but those that demand the best in their tech say it's a must have. It has extremely long range (adjustable) and can detect all levels of temperature (even cold against cold background, good for detecting wights and other undead) as opposed to the standard four level detection.

You walk down the hall a ways without eliciting a response. When you reach the stairs, however, you hear a series of locks be hastily disabled. "Wait!" the man calls. He's a hintling, with an unshaven face, unkempt hair, and a single ear. You feel weaker just looking at him, with his hunched over posture, baggy eyes, and lined features. "Hurry up, let's get this over with."

She heads back carefully. Having earned his attention, if not his trust.

She speaks carefully from the safety of the doorway, assuming she's not invited inside.

"I'm not looking to cause any trouble for you-but...I need to know what you know. The Kid attracts lots of rumors and no facts. A smart merc does her homework. Especially on employers. What happened to you?"
