JECTION PHARM, LEVEL 1
From this position, Armoth cannot determine what faction the attackers represent. The darkness of the room is only intermittently broken by the brightness of the muzzle flashes, and very partially uncovered by a few of the merc's flashlights. However, your eye spots seven heat signatures on the other side of the wall.

As you huddle behind your desk, one of the Momo mercs drags himself over to you. The night vision your eye offers makes your vision blurry, but you can plainly see that this merc is losing a lot of blood, and fast.

"Shit-- I can-- tak-- wife.--" he says, but the sound of gunfire drowns out his weak words. He's offering you a blood coated PDA. His assault rifle isn't far from the desk, abandoned maybe five feet away from you.

JECTION PHARM, LEVEL -2
Turgidly gets no response from either of the outlying Sellswords. Perhaps they're busy?

In any case, getting a good look at the fight requires some risk taking. As the group recalls, there is little cover in the main room, where the fight is taking place. However, Turgidly goes as far up the stairs as he can without risking getting shot, then takes a quick look. He doesn't see much. None of the combatants have their flashlights on. Well, there are a few beams of light coming from unmoving bodies, but I'd hardly call those combatants. Anyways, the room is intermittently lit up by gunfire. There're maybe five gunmen currently firing in the room, most likely Momo mercs. In the adjacent room south of Turgidly, he sees three men firing into the main room through the sole conjoining opening, the security checkpoint.

THE CISTERN
Alexis equips the weapons. When she puts on the gloves, she feels a brief electric surge jolt through her body, and small arcs of electricity jump from one glove to the other. These aren't just any regular gloves, it seems...

The ramok is engaged with the islander. Shammy gives the ramok a few quick punches, but the alien seems completely unaffected. Alexis comes in behind Rang and kicks him in the back of the knee. This doesn't phase him. In fact, she hurts her own leg (right) a little bit in the attempt.

In one violent motion, Rang the Undermining grabs Shammy (a man who has a full foot on the ramok) by the neck and throws him into Alexis, forcing both humans to the ground in a heap. The force of the full weight of Shammy colliding with you leaves you dazed, and you think you might have injured your right leg further in the fall. Shammy scrambles to the side in time to avoid a stomp from the ramok. You are too dazed to fully dodge, and are hit, however partially. The stomp was meant to crush Shammy's neck, but instead the ramok's foot catches your left arm, pinning you in place and injuring your arm. The ramok look down at you with a stoic, icy gaze as he continues crushing your arm. Now in agony, you think he might just snap your arm in two. That is, until Shammy jumps onto his back and begins choking him. This is enough of an annoyance to free you from the pin, as the ramok tries to wrestle the islander off of him.

((Sorry I haven't posted yet, had some work to finish))

Also, before I post I have a quick question:  Can I still hear the rest of the team on comms wherever I am?  By that I mean do I know about the attack, and the retreat order?

You can only hear the swamp, and know nothing of an attack. Your disc has made no sound, so you know of no order from Turgidly.

(( Uh what effect do those injuries actually have? Damn my rolls sucked even kicking the soft part of his body injured me. ))

Get up, punch the spikes into his back with both hands aiming for the lower back where it's not armored to give the electric a clear path into his body.

As Lokk-Agar looked around and tried to puzzle out how he had got here, he felt a strange peace settle over him.  It had been many years since he had last set foot in his homeland, but being in the swamp brought the memories back as clear and sharp as if it had just been yesterday....  He remembered how he use to spend hours as a child wandering the marshy wilderness, exploring every little crevice.....

He shook his head, clearing it of his reminiscing.  He had a sword to claim and a way back to find, and this was no time for daydreaming.  As he walked on, he began to wonder if this was all just a trick of the mind, and whether this was some kind of test the sword was forcing on him, or a trap to prevent him from claiming it.  In the end he decided that either way, he had best be cautious.

Cautiously head towards the voice, keeping my knife at the ready and my eyes peeled for anything unusual.

Quickly examine PDA. Try to duck out of cover long enough to grab assault rifle, get back in cover and reload.

Try crawling through the gunfight, keeping as low to the ground as possible and using the cover of darkness.

JECTION PHARM, LEVEL 1
The PDA handed to Armoth is just some cheap piece of shit made by an off-brand company. Who even uses PDAs anymore? When he activates it, the prompt Welcome back, Mr. Evans. You have 3 notifications. appears on the screen. A cursory glance would tell you this is just the guy's PDA, nothing extraordinary. Armoth looks to the man to find that he's now fully collapsed on the floor, likely dead.

Putting the item away for now, Armoth leaves his cover long enough to grab the assault rifle, then return to safety. The display on the gun indicates that not one shot was fired, so there is no need to reload. He grabs a few magazines from the merc's body, just in case.

The mercs seem to be losing, as far as Armoth can determine. The three invaders are suppressing the mercs as the men around the corners are picking them off. Right before the mercs are completely routed, several plasma arrows fly through the room, emitting a green-white glow as they pass through. Instantly, Armoth and Turgidly would see that two of the invaders are downed as two Dread Mothers jump down from the stairwell and rush in, laser edge swords activated. Several bullets deflect off their armour, but they are undeterred as they engage in melee with the invaders. You'd think this would be over in seconds, but the invaders are extremely agile, dodging the Mother's blades with inhuman grace. And, to any observer's surprise, the two downed invaders get up slowly, arrows still in their chests.

The remaining Momos reload their guns. "Everyone, downstairs! Let the dreadnoughts take care of those fuckers." the leader commands. But the others seem hesitant.

"Sir, I don't think--" a Momo starts, before being cut off.

"No, you don't. And you will not start now. We need to secure that weapon. Now, Robins, Talek, up front. Go go go!" the commander insists, whipping the others into action.

Turgidly would see the mercs now getting ready to march downstairs.

A SWAMP?
Lokk heads in the direction he believes the voice originated. He walks for some time, keeping his eyes peeled. He would find it's hard to keep alert. Several times he catches himself zoning out, getting distracted, or otherwise losing focus.

Soon, though, he is forced awake by the sight of another being. Just ahead, standing in the water, another degwalker. The man is even more grungy and unkempt than Lokk himself. He is holding a wicked looking blade, dripping with some viscous material.

"Lokk-Agar," he starts, a smile on his face. "Are you of the swamp, or of the city?" Lokk could hear the rustling of leaves. Up above, creatures are jumping from branch to branch.

THE CISTERN
((You'll see, in time))

Alexis shrugs off her injuries and punches the ramok in the back, just as he throws Shammy off of himself. This elicits the first emotional response you've seen in the ramok. The alien roars in pain and fury as the electric current is sent through his body. You are unable to withdraw your fists, as the current surges ever stronger through your enemy's body. The crowd goes wild, cheering "Roasted ramok! Roadsted ramok!" Soon, though, when the gloves reach their full power, your weapon overloads and blasts you backwards. The ramok falls to his knee for a few seconds, breathing heavily, as you recover from your dazed state. Your enemy looks to you with a fury unseen previously, as he charges as you, intent on crushing you utterly.

((Alright, general announcement time. This is supposed to be a team effort, people. I've been trying to nudge you in that direction, but I can only do so much before having to spell it out for you directly. I know in most RtDs you can submit an action and see what happens, but here I want cooperation, dialogue, and strategy.

Harry, you've been leading the charge so far, and I appreciate that, but if you're going to be the team leader your going to have to give direction to the other players. That means at least informing them of what your going to do. Even saying something like "I signal the others to follow" is sufficient, if not optimal.

Draco, Harry tried to initiate dialogue with you before you went off on your own. If someone talks to you IC, please do respond back. I'm patient, I'll wait for the dialogue to conclude before continuing. I didn't stop you then because your character seems like the lone wolf type, something that the others will hopefully nag/threaten you about.

Hapah gets a pass because his character is in the middle of a firefight, and is thus unlikely to respond to the comm. I've already spoken to Dwarmin about his involvement.

For future reference, it is considered poor form ICly for Sellswords to abandon their allies.))

There's about a zero percent chance you'll get around the mercs that are headed straight for the stairs, especially lugging around dead weight, and especially(x2) at your -30 Strength. In fact, unless you act fast, the mercs will shine their lights on you in a matter of seconds. That goes for Audacious as well, but she's further down the stairs.

((I would signal the other people to do something if they happened to be present, which they are generally not. Hence the 'comatose teammates' thing I've been harping on. Also, the shit has hit the fan right now and TU just wants to get out of here with some objectives hopefully accomplished, other silly monkeys be damned.))

Very well, then - look for a nook to hide in and look generally distraught together with Ms. Whatshername while the mercs hopefully pass by.
