"How about you stop trying to be negative and look at it this way.

If we stay here, we accomplish nothing.
If we go with them, we have a chance of reaching a place that Wells might have also found or been lead to.
What other options do we have? Wander out to absolute nowhere? Because I'm sure that will get us to find him.

Why are you being so against finding him, anyway?"

"I'm not against finding him, I just think that going with them has a much higher chance of us ending up dead than us finding Wells. Especially if we specify "find Wells alive"."

"Then what's your plan, then? The longer we do nothing, the more likely something bad will happen to him when we're not there to help."

"My plan? Accept the inevitable. I have a higher chance of sprouting tentacles than I do of ever talking with Wells again."

Jack stood, about to say something, but he was speechless.
After a short while, he spoke.

"You know what, good luck with that. Be sure to magic up a message later on to tell me how that goes, I'll be going with them."

Jack got up and went over to the treasure hunters, turning back once.

"And for the record, it was your idea to have Wells do it, it should have been me to use that disc."

"If I had to guess.. about [650,000 square kilometres], but that's just a guess. It doesn't take very long to cross if you know what you're doing.

Jack stood, about to say something, but he was speechless.
After a short while, he spoke.

"I know! There's nothing we can do now, and risking our lives in a fruitless quest to find Wells isn't doing him any favors!"

"If I had to guess.. about [650,000 square kilometres], but that's just a guess. It doesn't take very long to cross if you know what you're doing.

"...So he's either in the desert, or far enough away and in a large enough area that we'll never find him unless we can get every man, woman, and child on the lookout. And he survives long enough."

"Um...probably a few hours...how long do you think it's been since we woke up? I lost track, translating the runes and stuff."

"Translating runes you say? How interesting... Wait, focus. What does this other kid even look like? For all me and my brother know, there could possibly be an entirely different group of kids out here or something. We'd need to first know what this Wells fellow looks like to know when we find him. Well, I suppose if we all went and looked together, you'd recognize him, I suppose."
