While Kyle enjoys his time inside Alex, Jack is shoving Derry towards Beth and jumping from the island. He falls for a few seconds before managing to build up enough power to sort of bring himself into a hover. Its unsteady and awkward, and completely uncontrollable, but he still manages to keep himself from hitting the water.
Beth, wasting no time, seizes Derry and takes him towards the shore. He kicks his legs fearfully, having always been naturally afraid of water, and this much god damn water is making him
lose his shit at present. He moans uncomfortably and Beth strains to keep a hold of him, hardly breathing as she focuses all her efforts on flapping furiously in order to keep them above the surface of the lake. After almost a full minute of this, they've reached the shore, though only just. Derry's boots are trailing in the water by the time she reaches the shallows, and Beth gratefully allows him to fall with a great splash. He flounders and rolls several times in the 12 inch high water before finally spluttering his way ashore. He lies on the sand to catch his breath and Jack pauses from his collection of Kyle to drag him beyond the tideline, which he wordlessly allows him to do, his pride temporarily ignored, whilst Beth lands further inland and prepares to take off again to complete her rescue.
Jack is but a few inches above the water, struggling to keep his slightly baggy clothes from slipping in, when Beth snags him as she zooms by. Jack signals his thanks and she exhaustedly tells him not to mention it. They make their way back to shore and land without incident. Everyone except Kyle (who is still yet incomplete, some of his mass having been scattered in the grass beyond the shore) lies in the sand and catches their breath. Only once they've had time to pull themselves together do they sit up to watch the island crash into the surface of the lake. It throws up a massive wall of water as it lands, and everyone has to stand up and move a few feet in order to avoid being soaked by the amplified waves that crash onto the beach. They're a little big on you, and you wear three large leather belts (also too big) around your midsection to keep them from trailing. You've taken to hanging pouches and gourds from them to keep your remedies safe, as well as hold the many trinkets and oddities you find [+7 Inventory]. There's a hood, and you like to keep it bunched up around your neck to keep you warm.

Friend of the Earth - Knows a lot about the physical attributes and habits of animals and plant life, especially that which resides in the forest, though he's never been in one. Wild creatures tend to take a liking to him due to his scent, a combination of rich earth and sunlight, gained from whiling away so many hours dozing amongst the warm grass on the Hill.
