"Um...I'd go with some kind of serpent venom, or maybe wasp. In the right amounts, both of those could probably do what you wanted."

"Depends on the exact venom. Dabbat cures most poisons, of course, but the sawscale's venom (as well as others', but they're a lot rarer) wouldn't be. Although sawscales' venom causes swelling and blisters, not paralysis. Anyways, dabbat's a good bet when you don't have any specific antivenims."

I'll actually put them in your inventory later.

Bethany unwraps her cloth, revealing a beautiful ouken longbow along with a matching quiver. The arms are supple and capped with iron bands to prevent shivering, and the entire bow is coated in a layer of wax, making it invulnerable to damage by being exposed to the elements via carelessness or travel. The string is as thin as a strand of hair, yet incredibly strong. You look at the quiver next; its made from some sort of dark red wood, unlike ouk, which is a cool brown colour, and has a leather carrying strap with clips for draping it across your shoulders or hanging it from a belt. You uncap it and look inside, finding it completely full of arrows. You pull one out and inspect it, then replace it and grab another. There seems to be nothing out of the ordinary about them, other than the fact that they are all completely identical with pointed metal tips, though you note that the fletchings are all your favourite colour, and though it could easily be a coincidence, you suspect that it isn't. Too many odd things have happened today for this to be a mere happenstance.

Derry unfurls a heavy, lugged lance. The head is black steel worked into the shape of a leaf and, evidenced by his bleeding thumb, razor sharp. He feels the weight of the spear, slightly favouring the point. Not for throwing. This weapon was made for war. The haft is some sort of false iron, just as sturdy, but extremely heavy. The opposite end of the spear ends in a spheroid counterweight. Judging by the way the area around where it connects to the handle is reinforced, you'd say that this end could be used to fight as well. Interesting. A spear turned quarterstaff. You aim it at a nearby tree. The balance is flawless.

Alex reveals a compact crossbow, along with a small hip quiver filled with bolts. Its a rather simple weapon, with no decoration, unlike the others, aside from a blank metal plate on the right side above the trigger. He inspects the mechanism, and is surprised to see that there aren't any levers for creating tension. Instead there is a handle that protrudes from the either side of the weapon that one pulls back and locks before loading and firing. You place the butt of the weapon on your hip and try loading it. It takes all of your strength just to work it into place, and you're not looking forward to using this weapon often.

Wells holds a longsword in his hands, along with a matching leather sheathe. The sword is made of.. you don't know what its made of.. When you look closely you find it to have a dull blue sheen. You've never seen or heard of anything like this before.

Kyle finds a rapier and a long-handled dirk attached to a belt with a tandem loop holster. The rapier's blade is thin, and ends in a fine point. The handle is heavily decorated and the hand guard is beautifully crafted. The dirk is similar, though the blade is much wider and the tip is dull. You surmise it to be for parrying.

Jack has.. a flask? No, that can't be right! He turns the cloth over several times and then turns to search the chest. There's gotta be a mistake! A second package or something!

There's a hood, and you like to keep it bunched up around your neck to keep you warm.

As Kyle looks around at everyone's new weapons he straps his new belt diagonally onto his waist. When he sees Well's sword his eye widen and his jaw drops.
"Isn't that a myth!?"

"You're the one who reads, are you telling me you never heard of the strongest and lightest materiel known to anyone? The blue color gives it away, my papa told me all about heroes of old wielding mithril into battle. To actually see it though... is kind of disappointing."

"Interesting..."

Examine the metal plate.
When your fingers brush against the metal it emits a hushed glow. Once it dims, you find a symbol has suddenly appeared on the brushed metal, as if it had been etched into it all along. Nothing else happened, so you're not sure what it means or does. When you touch it again, however, the symbol changes. You repeat this several times and see a total of three symbols in a consecutive cycle, along with the blank setting.

-blank- --> F --> A --> D --> ~

The F and A settings did nothing, that you could see, while the crossbow was cocked and unloaded. The D setting caused a long steel bayonet to emerge from the front of the crossbow, and when turned to a different setting it retracted, with no evidence that it was ever there. You also note that once you had tried each setting, the plate no longer glowed, and instead the symbol instantly changed whenever you touched it, with the etchings visibly shifting to the next setting in the pattern. The switching process is virtually instantaneous.

You can't see anything that might be a language or symbols engraved into the blade or hilt. You do note however, that the blade is extremely light for something made of metal. Almost like a feather. Yet it feels totally balanced and natural in your grip. Maybe it is mythril..
