Beth nods. The new, strong wings under her shirt ripple with subdued power. They felt like a part of her now-as if she had another pair of arms-and she longed to use them. To view their graceful beauty. To soar.

She wonders why the magic chose her. Was it something to do with her deepest desires? Or maybe it was the toy-wings...her father had made...from knowledge he gleaned, using the scrolls he had discovered near the oldway...?

"I knew something had changed. I wasn't sure if I just a bit crazy, though, so I had to show you.

It doesn't hurt, you know-whatever had happened is a part of me. Well, it sorts of hurts to have them all closed up like this, but I don't want to go ripping my shirt with all you boys around." She says, rolling her eyes and regaining her color.

She looks back at Derry.

"Is anything different about you, Derry? I can't be the only one who changed, right?"

Bethany takes a moment, getting used to her new parts feathery weight. They flap softly in the wind. She can't help but feel her body is slightly lighter than it used to be-gravity has less a hold on her, and even now her toes tingle in the anticipation of take off.  But, she can't leave her friends behind, not yet...

She smiles, looking at Derry. Time for some drills, to start.

Action: Practice some basic flight and acrobatic maneuvers. Be a showoff!

Derry reeled back as he finished the holes and Beth's wings spread out.
Wow... they're beautiful...
Catching himself just a little too late, Derry's cheeks burnt red.
