The group nods in agreement, and Kyle hands the disc to Wells, who takes it reluctantly. He approaches the pedestal meekly and the others back away to the edge of the dais. Wells places the disc on the slot. The moment it clicks into place he vanishes.
In the very next moment the room explodes with light.
The disc shines with a brightness that challenges the sun, and its all the five of you can do not to be blinded by the sheer brilliance filling the room. A sudden wave of energy sends you all sprawling as you struggle to shield your eyes, and a burning sensation begins to come over you. A searing pain pierces your chest, like you've just swallowed a drop of molten metal, and a droning sound can be heard which gradually increases in pitch. You all begin to scream as the heat grows steadily more and more intense, and the droning noise continues to grow louder and louder. Derry is the only one of you who manages to overcome the pain enough to get his feet, and as he looks straight into the heart of the glow, he can see a blurred shape, a familiar one.
