H'okay, so. Been working on the Unique Jobs' skill lists. Listed here are 3 skills for each of you, based on your history and/or personality. You will each pick 2 of them to add to your Unique Job list. Note that you'll still need to purchase the abilities with JP to actually use them, and that you also each have one ability granted by your birthsign (those abilities are summed up in the OP).

Spoiler: Mist Berserker Heath (click to show/hide)

Spoiler: Blood Siren Alexia (click to show/hide)

Spoiler: Grace Grizzly, Shaman (click to show/hide)

Spoiler: Kyle Johnson, Brawler (click to show/hide)

Oh, and any abilities you don't pick now, you will be able to pick later if you like them better than abilities you get access to at that time. However, they'll have power associated with the level you got access to them at; while almost all abilities will scale up with your power at least a little bit, later abilities will (usually) be stronger regardless. I hope. If I'm doing it right.

Oh, I should probably put he campaign file download link in this thread at some point, eh?

linky

I'll edit it into the OP as well. I still need to finish the world map, or at least the region-colouring for it (since the actual locations will be filled in as the game progresses, aside from major cities), and I haven't included the battle maps because reasons.

For those of you who aren't familiar with MapTools (I'm using version 1.3.b89), here's the basics that you will need to know to browse the campaign file. There is a button at the top-right of the screen labelled Select Map (it has a small picture of a globe). The maps I have so far are:
-Characters: Tidbits and trivia about people you know. I'll update peoples' descriptions for you as the campaign goes along, similar to the Brave Story from the original game.
-Job Tree: The visual representation of the job tree. You start at the middle (unique, squire, alchemist, archer), and branch out from there as you gain Job Levels.
-Lore: It contains information about the battle system, some commonly-known history about Ivalice and the world you'll be playing in, and descriptions for the various jobs, plus their ability lists. There's a really big book at the top of the map, clicking it will tell you how to ask Alazlam (the narrator and tutorial-guy from FFT) about the ability lists.
-Overworld: Did I mention it's not done yet? Because it's not. When it is, it should serve as a visual representation of Ivalice, as well as the knowledge compendium of the locations you've visited or know about. At least we know my freehand outline of Ivalice is accurate, since I drew it on top of an overlay from the game  :P
As I've mentioned ranted about previously, I'll be messing with the overworld map a bit, to make it seem like Ivalice is a place where more than 200 people live. You know, a country with, like... roads... and stuff.

EDIT: It tickles my funny bone just a little bit that people are using real-world names for their characters. Ramza, Balbanes, Orlandu, and (gods help the free) Balmafula alongside Grace, Kyle, and Gregory.

For some reason, the newest download can't find it's own jar when I try and run it from Downloads. Trying it, due to the fact I had a problem like this once, so...

Very neat, first time opening maptools for myself. Took a bit of tinkering, but I managed to look at the stuff, interesting. I've not played FFT, so if I ever get in the game bear with me a bit.

@Tsu: I had the same problem, you actually have to use the jar file itself.

Oooh, NOW I remember.

I've had some straaaange errors before, so I'm used to this madness.

EDIT
Apparently it can't connect to the maptools server or something. The HashMap can't be cast to some stuff.

What kind of program do I need to open that campaign file?

I can't use maptools, every time I try to start it up it says Error: Unable to access jarfile maptool-*.jar

@Alexandria: Reason why is because, if I were to guess, its trying to call a jar file to run but its either improperly named or they futzed up in formatting said jar file because they're trying to call an already executable program. I don't know if that's a problem or not honestly, but I'm giving a guess with my admittedly low java programming knowledge.

Just look for the file that says 'maptool-1.3.b89' that is an Executable Jar File, and use that. Works just fine then.

Nice thats working fine, now do learn how to use this.

I'm guessing I begin as unique and then I choose where to begin my expansion from that?

You gotta hit the 'file' option at the toolbar, select 'open campaign' and manually find the campaign file.
