Things have changed so much, when my high school niece had a sleepover they included one boy, because he was 'safe'. (with the sterotypical lisping voice that bugs me... otherwise pretty hot.... for a high school boy... err...)
Completely socially acceptable now, compared to when I was in high school just one generation ago.
I would've freaking loved to have been invited to a sleepover in high school / as a kid. Rom Coms, hangouts and stuff, honestly this is what I do with my straight female friends now (and some of them have husbands who are cool with it cause they know I'm 0 threat to
them anybody at all. My threat to them is probably somewhere in the negative numbers with the whole me liking men and not their wives/girlfriends. I think that means I'm the opposite of a threat or something. ). If I could've been honest about how I am as a kid, it would've been blatantly apparent that there would've been no reason to exclude me from a sleepover. Not really sure I qualify very much as "male" [shrugs].
I wish it were completely seen as socially acceptable today, but sadly I think it depends on where you are and who you ask.
Because you know, it is safe for heterosexual girls to be around guys, but it isn't safe for heterosexual guys to be around girls.
Max, I .... You are full of awesome, but it's different. Most fathers aren't going to let a straight boy sleep over in the same room as their daughter and her friends, because there's a risk of things happening. Consensual things happening but still, come on man, don't make me say it. With the gay boy, this isn't an issue, because of different motivations.
A straight boy might have wanted into her pants. The only way I would've wanted into a girl's pants is to see if they fit me and I'd much rather wear a skirt and talk about boys with her
[blush].
