I love Haven and Hearth but hate how my computer takes about a half-hour to load the game every time I log in. Plus I kind of just abandoned another settlement from here because of some conflicts between a person in that settlement and myself.

Give me anywhere between now and two months and I'll join up with you guys on a new character. I say that because I might want to play it tonight, I may want to play it this weekend, and I may just want to wait until I get a new computer - which should be happening between August and September. Just keep in mind that if you guys pave over my garden like those fuckers from 4chan's /jp/ did back in World 5 I will murder you in your sleep.

Also I would advise changing the hearth secret and only sending it out via personal messages to people who aren't Escaped Lunatics, as otherwise we will have Russians swarming the settlement in three days time. As one of two people who survived the Russian assault on Hinamizawa back in World 5 I must say that this is a necessity.

Not really. It's an active thread for Haven and Hearth discussion now. People chat about their settlements and invite others to join.

EDIT: The link.

I hate it how the game treats the people who joined later and don't want to get into an already powerful group. Basically the map is too small for anyone to hope for hermiting (and hermiting is boring). You will get killed countless of times because the groups really want you out of the game. So if you are aware of this, why waste your time? So you can say after a month "yeah it was a fun trip, i built a house raised some cows and some russians broke my wall and killed us and took everything. it was super! highly recommend it"?

There hasn't been a post in there for over a week, and I can tell you firsthand that the settlement managed by Seriyu, Ibid, and a few others has essentially died for the most part. There's maybe one person in there but they've pretty much claimed most of the village as their own so it's not even worth going to that one. I'd say join up with UristMcDwarf's village if you want something active for now.

If you can't stand the heat go play Farmville. Just saying that if you're going to complain about player-versus-player combat it makes sense to not play a game with open player-versus-player combat, similar to if you're going to complain about forced role-playing like I do you do not play a game which requires you to be in character all the time. It's just common sense people.

What so there's no room for critique or improvement? Personally I found it bizarre and out of place that a player could punch his way through the strongest walls in the game completely bypassing the battering ram mechanics which have an delay built in implicitly avoiding the problem of people not being online all the time.

Actually I find that ridiculous too and I hope that they either fix that or I perhaps get to exploit it myself some day. Either way that's not what I was saying. Don't put words in my mouth.

Both the players you quoted were complaining about how players who join mid-game get trashed by wall breaking raiders. Your response was to suggest they stop complaining and play something different. One of them already said they weren't playing because of this. This is why I asked the question I did: in order to clarify your position, not to put things in your mouth. You did say not to complain about and play the game at once.
