Someone get That Aussie Guy up here.

I made fluffy w amblers breathe fire once.

I one time accidentally let out the clowns while irrigating a farm.

By accidentally I mean too soon.

I once carved fortifications in the candy and set up a shooting range , have the adolescent ones around the fort swimming lessons in a magma lake heated pool , also hold war tribunals for all the captured goblins and kobolds

We must raise money. DF needed a legal defense fund eventually anyway. Concerned parents will find us eventually.

People have cast huge statues and towers out of obsidian, emptied an ocean to drown whales, turn the ocean into obsidian, settled into parts of the world that mortals were never meant to be, built a fort on a necromancer tower. But, perhaps the weirdest thing people do with DF is have absurd amounts of fun.

So glad that GirlInHat's thread included a link to the sea serpent farming, which was exactly what I thought of when I saw this.

In my most successful fortress, CrestedWhips, circa 41d, I got fed up with overpopulation dragging my FPS down.
I realised that mothers caught in a current dropped their babies soooo...
Yes, I had a baby-drowning machine.
It worked very well, thankyouverymuch.

I helped with a project back in 40d to drain the ocean

Now that takes some doing.  You basically have to build drainage platforms right on top of the ocean.  An above-ground pantry and dining room also helps (you'll have plenty of muddy tiles, so you might as well farm out there)

Personally I've been considering building another on-the-ocean fort connected by just a bridge to the rest of the world.  Could be fun.  I love floating cities, I blame the Neverending Story.
