...

EDIT2: Degel, and only Degel has had 87 wounds in the past, though they no longer appear due to having healed. The next wound id is 88. I think Ieb is right about migrating old soldiers.

Then why does it no longer show any wounds? The upload is the same time as the screenshot.

I just so happened to get a migrant who in the past had a scuffle with some creature or another, and lost a hand. They showed up with everything marked as yellow/brown too, but after I reloaded the game and checked, all the previously marked wounds were gone.

Guess the game realizes that "oh, they're not THAT wounded" after a reload, but upon migrating they're treated like your average dorf !!SCIENCE!! participant, every possible part wounded, because!

The military is all gathered in one huge mass on top of the ramp to the mountaintop, where the entrance is. Apparently they spend their time taking potshots at owls, pushing babies off the ledge, and giggling.

I think this is related to the bug that some dwarves born during world gen stay children when they get to your fort until their next birth day.  In my previous fort I got half a dozen children immigrants with their parents, and about half were either 13 or 14 years old.

Zepave Dawnhogs the Butterfly of Vales the Marsh Titan ... was taken out by a single novice axedwarf and his pet war kitten. Long Live Domas Etasastesh Adilloram, slayer of the snow butterfly!
Doesn't quite have the ring of heroics to it...
Mother: "...and after the evil snow butterfly was defeated, Domas and his kitten lived happily ever after!"
Kids: "Yaaaay!"
