I will be OUT as well.

It looks like something rather time-needy and time I do not have in abundance.

Wow, I can't believe the curse of Lack of Time I got off this shady guy worked. Let's hope it won't affect anyone else. :P Now to read through all those rules...

Questions (will be updated as I read through the rules):
1) If playing both Production and Survey phases gives 1 wealth, what's the actual difference between them?
2) Where is the colonist pool?
3) To be perfectly clear, if nobody played a phase, then it doesn't happen, right?
4) If a player plays Colonization, does he not choose a colonist next turn and instead only gains the one he reserved?
5) Is there any point to reserving anyone except experts?
6) If #3 is true, does a player still gain a colonist if Colonization phase doesn't happen next turn?
7) If #3 is true, then what's the point of playing Survey, considering all resources cost waaaaay more than 1 wealth?

2) Where is the colonist pool?
3) To be perfectly clear, if nobody played a phase, then it doesn't happen, right?

5) Is there any point to reserving anyone except experts?
6) If #3 is true, does a player still gain a colonist if Colonization phase doesn't happen next turn?
7) If #3 is true, then what's the point of playing Survey, considering all resources cost waaaaay more than 1 wealth?

1) Both Survey and Production give the person playing it an extra Wealth, but the effect is a bit different. Playing Survey gives you 2 Wealth instead of just one, so if you're pretty sure that someone else is going to play Production it's a decent way of getting the one extra wealth you need to buy something. It's also quite effective with a Survey Station, since that's a flexible way to gain various resources and gives you an effect during Survey that everyone else doesn't get.

2) There is a set number of colonists at the beginning of the game, which makes of the Colonist Pool. In this case, with 6 players, there are 48 Unskilled, 18 Skilled, 12 Expert, and 12 Criminals. After each Colonization phase six random colonists will be taken from that pool to refill the active set. If all Colonists are taken, the game ends.

3) Correct.

4) No, if you play Colonization you get both the Reserved Colonist next time as well as one of the active set. You must always take a colonist if Colonization is played.

5) Depends. That's usually the best choice, but there are a few cases where Skilled might suit your goals better, or even a Criminal if you're going Prison. Also, there are only 12 Experts in the pool, so later in the game that's probably not an option.

6) The Reserved colonist is gained next time Colonization is played, regardless of how many Rounds happen before that Phase happens again.

7) Pretty much covered in #1

a stack of two blobs) Does not fulfilling a contract (not buying what you requested) have any effect?
9) Do the availible colonists get displayed at the beginning of the turn, before anyone had the chance to pick Colonization?
10) Am I correct in assuming that at least one advanced machine must be bought before it becomes possible to produce them on-site?
11) Is there any way for people to trade or transfer resources or wealth between themselves?
12) Is it impossible to staff any building if Organization phase doesn't happen?
Could you please state our resource limits next to the resources themselves?

BTW guys, I realize that everyone wants to play colonization right now, but if someone doesn't play build we'll all be fucked. I propose to put the responsibility of playing build each turn (barring those cases when the majority of the players doesn't want to build anything or someone else volunteers) on the player who goes first that turn. Does it sound fair?

Also, I think that deciding right now who'll build a prison for the criminals, and grab all of them, would be a good idea. Anyone willing to volunteer?

Yes. Sorry if I wasn't clear on that.

8 ) No, you can keep contracts open as long as you wish. The only restriction on them is that you can only have 6 active at a time.
9 ) Yes, the available colonists will always be shown. The active set gets refilled at the end of the Round if Colonization was played.
10 ) That is correct.
11 ) Players may freely trade Resources, Wealth, and Colonists between one another during a Trade phase.
12 ) The Special action for playing the Build Phase is that you may immediately staff the building that you just built. Otherwise, no, Organization is the only way to staff empty buildings or move colonists between buildings.

Not quite sure what you're asking for here. Do you mean warehouse space? I just expanded out the player info sheets, so maybe what you want is in place now.

Yep, it is.

8 ) So if a player keeps his contract open, then every trade phase he'll have guaranteed access to the resource he requested? If so, is there any way to close the contract without buying this resource?
13) Is it possible to staff a building built on this turn during the Organization phase?
14) When does the phase choice end?
15) Does playing a production phase give 1 wealth even if nothing is produced (no buildings are staffed or not enough food)?

Could you guys please claim what you're picking? As I see it, we pretty much have to play _at least_ four out of six (without survey and production) phases, which must obviously be spread out among us. I picked colonization, if only because at the time I thought all phases will happen regardless of players' choices and now I'm hesitant to switch because I don't know what you picked.

I don't think we need to or even have to divulge them. Clash of phases is EXTREMELY common in a game of RFTG, and people plan accordingly.

12) If you have 6 contracts open and play Trade without using any of them, you may drop one to open a different contract with no penalty.
13) Yes, if both Build and Organization are played in a round you may staff it during Organization.
14) Once everyone has PM'd their actions in to me. In the live version, everyone has a set of cards - one for each phase - and they all set down their choice face-down. When everyone has selected, the cards are flipped over to reveal what phase everyone picked.
15) Yes.

As evilcherry said, part of the main 'competitive' part of this game is figuring out what the other players are going to do and outplaying them. While you're certainly welcome to discuss what phases are going to be played and in general be more cooperative, keep in mind that it's the PMs to me that determine what is actually played, not what is said in-thread.

It is quite possible that the 'best' move for multiple players, or even all players, would be to play the same phase.

I have a job.
While that is mostly good news, it also means I'll be unable to put a lot of time in forum games when it starts. Since you've got a few waiters, I'm going to let one of them take my place now rather than in the middle of the game.

My apologies, and please, do not take this personally. I think this could be a great game.

I think this game is going to have an almost entirely different set of people than the initial list. Oh, well.

I haven't played RTFG and I think that cooperating at the beginning is simply a better idea. Phaseclash isn't advantageous to anyone right now, since it is preferable to everyone to have as many phases played as possible.
