Colonization:  Skilled if for some reason Pyro doesn't take it, unskilled otherwise.
Build:  N/A
Production:  Produce 1 Food.
Trade:  Reserve Rare Goods (I'm assuming that contracts are good for 1 unit each).  Sell 3 Food, Sell 1 Basic Raw; Buy 1 Basic Goods and 1 Basic Machine.

Net:  +1 colonist, -1 Wealth, -2 Food, -1 Basic Raw, +1 Basic Good, +1 Basic Machine

Anyone interested in buying an Expert?  Or selling me a basic good?

Trade:  Reserve Rare Goods (I'm assuming that contracts are good for 1 unit each).

That is correct. So if you had 3 contracts for Rare Goods you'd be able to buy up to 3 Rare Goods regardless of availability on the station. Once used, that contract is gone.

Trade: -1 Food -1 RR +1 Basic Machine (contract if needed)

Total: +1 Basic Machine -1 BG -1 AM +1 Unskilled

Two things - One, Build comes before Production and you have a Basic RR and a Basic Goods, so you can't build a Farm with that. Two, a Machine Factory takes a Basic Goods to make a machine, not a Basic Raw Resource.

So with the set-up you have you'd end up with 1 RR and 1 Basic Machine at the end of your turn, not a Basic Goods and a Basic Machine, and you wouldn't have built the farm.

Basic Raw resource, not Rare Raw Resource. Pretty sure you got that from your Harvester a turn or two back. Sorry, RR is being used for both by people, apparently.

Not sure why you thought the Farm only needed goods. It takes 1 Basic Goods and 1 Basic Machine.

And...yeah, just go through with as much of my plan as possible. I wouldn't have built that machine factory if I had read it right...

Or would you rather take advantage of the Famine and just sell your Food for 3W? You could sell it and the Basic Raw for 5W total. Not enough for a Basic Machine, but close enough that you could probably buy one next turn.
