Pull two hairs out ten inches and tie them together with the knot about an inch or two above your skin. Then release the hairs.

Grab a huge amount of hair, tie it to a pole, and jump off a roof.

Onto a mattress, preferably.

If we die from these ideas, do we need to start over?

That's why I mentioned the mattress.

Tie a hair to a spool of some sort and see how long it comes out.

Flex a piece several times to see if it weakens and snaps.  Also try cutting it with wire cutters.  Do it both above and below the point it normally goes inside the body.

Attempt to direct the hair to shoot out by flexing in different ways.

Hm...See how sharp it is. Say, wash a hair off and then try to cut cheese with it.
It cuts the cheese like a nice cheese wire. Or a fat guy full of beans.

Pull two hairs out ten inches and tie them together with the knot about an inch or two above your skin. Then release the hairs.
They retract until about an inch before they pull tight at the knot and then stop. Hmm.

Grab a huge amount of hair, tie it to a pole, and jump off a roof.

Onto a mattress, preferably.

The hair stops you. Extremely painfully. Ever tried to pull out a hair? Imagine trying to pull it out with the force of your whole body at terminal velocity.

And it doesn't pull out.

Tie a hair to a spool of some sort and see how long it comes out.

Flex a piece several times to see if it weakens and snaps.  Also try cutting it with wire cutters.  Do it both above and below the point it normally goes inside the body.
It just keeps coming. You think there might be no end to it. It doesn't seem to weaken or snap. Wire cutters crimp it to one side or another but don't cut it, regardless of where you pinch.

Attempt to direct the hair to shoot out by flexing in different ways.
Like most hair, it doesn't listen.

Tie small weights of varying weights to the arm-hair. Swing arm around.

Pull out a bunch of hair and weave it on a cross shaped frame then shoot it with a pistol

So it was like a binary search, except the question is "Has the input been brutally murdered?", and it only ever returns True.

...You'd probably break the frame.

Pull out a few hairs, submerge them in battery acid. Wash them before pulling them back. Did the hairs' physical properties change?

Tie small weights of varying weights to the arm-hair. Swing arm around.
You now have several heavy iron weights whirling around on your extended arm hair, very near to your head. This is not ideal.

Pull out a bunch of hair and weave it on a cross shaped frame then shoot it with a pistol

When woven very densely, it manages to stop the bullet. I assume you use a metal frame too, so it doesn't snap under the load.

Submerge some hair into water.
It becomes wet.

Pull out a few hairs, submerge them in battery acid. Wash them before pulling them back. Did the hairs' physical properties change?
The appear to stay the same.

Anyone willing to guess what the power is?
