Hello.
When playing Dwarf Fortress newb edition, I sometimes (alot recently) have Black Spaces various Places in the text. Quite annoying when I can't see what job a dwarf is assigned to for example.

Any simple solutions? I have tried searching, but quite can't find any that resemble my problem

I read that somewhere. I find the other text type very hard to read though (personal preference). Is it the only solution?

do not use a graphics pack. that is really the only way to eliminate the black spaces. although using the scroll wheel to zoom in and out will cause a complete redraw.

Thanks! This fixed it! It was only happening once now and then, but forcing a restart to remove it. With a quick zoom in and out, it fixed it! Thanks alot for your help! (and the one earlier as well for taking his time

Hitting F10 works even better.

I play in windowed mode and get the same.  My usual fix is to resize the window ever so slightly, and everything redraws.

I also simply resize the window. Also window mode makes using dwarf therapist etc. easier.

Zooming (mouse wheel) usually will fix this too.
