"There's still the guards and the army of the nation, which the council should have very little power over if I know my division of power correctly."

But even so, an Army is useless without pay and supplies. The council probably controls that.

"Ah, but for how long? To solve this political issue, one wouldn't need that much time, really. Particularly if we're put to work."

But shouldn't we be trying to hunt down this evil menace that's hiding in the shadows instead of trying to sort out constitutional problems of a country that exiled us?

"But, in the event that we comply with the council's decision, how soon are we to leave?"

Ask more.
"If you are still here by sun set, my hand is forced

But even so, an Army is useless without pay and supplies. The council probably controls that.
"That is part of the problem

"So I suppose I should get my stuff and get out now? Or is there something I am needed for before that?"
"Yes, all of you. I mentioned a loophole. The loophole is that while you are exiled, you are still citizens of Veerain..."

To Adam, Aria asks <Do you have any idea of a place we could stay to plan our counterattack against entropy, or maybe become stronger and more in tune with our powers? It seems we aren't welcome here.>

Out loud, Aria asks the King: What would happen if we refused to leave?

Mahriana speaks up. She's somewhat of a quiet girl in matters such as this. "What if...you were to 'accidentally' misplace us? After all, I've known several guards who've been known to have bad vision and worse facial recognition."

Hm. Guess she would have to comply. The king seemed awfully inflexible. Oh well, perhaps further actions would solve that problem.

"Very well, I shall probably comply, completely rock-stupid as the councilmen may be. On another note, I do have a perfectly good hospital here, Your Highness. May I ask for your sponsorship and protection of it while I'm away? As well as an assistant for my brother? He can handle supervision, but the day-to-day operation of the hospital requires assistance, I'm afraid."

Final question!

"Not yet, As citizens, I can give you a mission. If the mission was to say, be doing something you were planing on doing anyway, like say hunting this Entropy chap, all the better. And as you are on a noble mission for the king, I can give each of you, a king crest."

"Sorry dear, a bit slow at the moment, 'accidentally'?"

"It would be my pleasure, doctor."

Mahriana smiles. "Well, if would be quite un-kingly for you to purposefully misplace us. But if it were to just slip your mind, who would question you? It would be treason to suggest you were senile, or -heavens forbid- ignoring the council's edicts."

That would help. Might stop people treating us like bugs and outcasts.
