Taking over a civilization

I think we should be able to kill the ruler of a civilization and take over their position as somewhat of a tyrant and rule over said civilization for all eternity and have other people try and overthrow you every once and awhile.

This would allow you to place strict laws and kill anyone you want.  Thus anyone who tries to attack you out of hatred gets killed by your guards, but your guards can also be rebels and they may try to overthrow you.

You should then be able to take over and enslave other civilizations and expand your civilization even further and eventually rule the world.

Another idea would be to continue world generation after you give up or retire so you can see what happens to your civilization.

I'm not sure but I think that Tarn is already working on something like what you've just suggested.

A kingdom game mode is planned but it will probably be a long time before it is actually implemented.

It is supposed to happen once the Monarch moves to your fort but I'm sure there will be many different ways to become ruler.

The closest thing we will see is when you can give orders to others and form groups (guilds, religions/cults, war parties, etc.)
