What should we tell the mountainhome?

A - Long live the King, Baron up and join the mountainhome for good.
B - Long live our own ends, distance the Fort from the mountainhome for good.
If both votes are tied, RNG decides. A vote placed here will be strategically wasted.

Someone else can have the sword; all Ms.Willsauce wants is a thong made of adamantine cloth to wrestle in.

Hmm.  Do we have time to turn the exit it's flying towards into a murderbox?  (by which I mean fortifications - I seem to recall that FB aren't [BUILDING_DESTROYER]...)

They can destroy buildings, but nothing can destroy constructions such as fortifications.

Ah, right, so that was it.  Nonetheless, my plan appears valid.  Surround the entrance with fortifications, hopefully block off the roof with floors while we're at it (carved fortifications instead of built fortifications, that way we have a few floors above to start with - IIRC, flying [BUILDING_DESTROYER] can't hurt floors when they're directly beneath them), then just surround the bugger with me and my men and watch us kill it.  It'll be safer than letting the thing get up close and bitey with us.

Wow.  For a second I was worried that Amberfortune'd fallen to the second page...  That would've been bad >.<

Wait - we have a fortress full of penguins... We need to go capture some bat-people and train one of their males to be the best armored knight ever.  Call him a "dark knight" and give him a pair of knives to train with...  Make his sparring buddy also be a young acrobatic dwarf named "Robin" who only wears green and red dyed leather.

Say, Loud Whispers, how's the Fort doing?  Are we all dead yet?

The Fort's doing fine enough, apologies for not updating - real life did not permit much time to throw away into the Blizzard of Death. Sarek the spider seems content to dwell in the caverns, deep enough that no Dwarf may reach it. So I guess we have a new resident, unless Sarek decides to begin hunting Dwarves this shouldn't be an issue. For the first time in Aberfortune history, all Dwarves - even babies, have a home in the trenches. It's all snug and snowy.

Huh.  Amberfortune is surprisingly stable ^_^

Now that Sarek isn't overtly hostile, that gives us more time to construct a means by which to entrap and use him, correct?  After all, Eldritch Demon-Spider-Thing Silk is always a nice thing to have...

Unfortunately we won't be catching Sarek, since Sarek decided to attack. 3 Dwarves were eaten as far as I'm aware, with only one noticeable loss being that of a professional speardwarf. Diana the escaped lunatic was the Dwarf to score the killing blow on Sarek with a bronze spear, in a fight that amazes me beyond bounds.
