One upside is that, for the first time since Elf took the wheel, the GM won't have any pre-existing PCs!

Well, I was nominated and I offered after that. Apparently people weren't paying attention.

No offense, but why exactly does this concern you? I mean, seeing as you're not even a player anymore...

None taken. I am merely voicing my thoughts as to the matter. Someone with no connections to this game, no real reason to run this except perhaps interest, no possible bias is more attractive to me simply because of the lack of controversy and complexity.

A former player can be accused of favoritism towards associated characters or lore, alternatively they may attempt to avoid that but overcompensate causing other issues. Having an outsider eliminates that possibility.

Furthermore, it provides a fresh outlook on everything, a new perspective on how to fix and run this game, unburdened by the past. For this reason I would rather have @SmurfingtonTheThird. More so than anyone else, who plays or once played this game. No offense intended to @Elf, but that includes him. Plus he immediately considered changing the system and the dynamics in accordance to the other external commentators such as @RadioControlled and @Piecewise rather than simply a reset or fast forward which as I have previously stated, I feel would do little on it's own.

His experience from 'hijacking' other games and successfully continuing them is just icing on the cake.

It's just dependent on if I like what's going to be changed or not. I do have two concerns though: As an outside GM with no attachments to RotMG how is he going to approve things without all of the lore tidbits that us players have been around for awhile? And number 2, is player plots. As in, major player plots.

A: The players can fill him in on it. Weren't there lore handlers and whatnot?
B: He's fine with player plots. It means less work for him since it's less GM and more Admin work.

Ah, so it's more of an admin role then? That reduces the workload dramatically.

Wait, so the GM would also in charge of gameplay mechanics? There might be some issues there, if the cries of players are anything to gauge off.

A: They haven't really done much, last I checked.
B: So he's more of a moderator than a GM?

A: Well, the people who know the lore could fill him in. If you cut the fluff and just sum up what matters, there isn't too much.
B: GM in the same way @Elf was a GM. That is, running the system, preventing abuse, handling the world and keeping balance.
