Gewgrl shrugs and keeps an eye on the zolids and other shady-looking people. Figuratively, if slime-folk don't have eyes.

Stride into the bar.  Ask Gewrgl if he's gonna finish his drink.  If he doesn't, chug it for him.  After that go talk to the Zolid warriors.

Since Gewrgl doesn't seem interested in his drink, you take it and chug it for him. Thus fortified you head over to the warriors, who acknowledge your presence with a tilt of their heads and slight shifting of their antenna.

"We are sorry that we did not arrive in time to help," one of them says in the raspy voice of a Zolid.

Gewgrl shrugs and keeps an eye on the zolids and other shady-looking people. Figuratively, if slime-folk don't have eyes.

You keep an eye on the shady-looking people in the bar, but everyone leaves you alone for now.

((Slime-Folk lack eyes, but can see through their heartstone. Additionally, like all slimes, they can sense heat and vibrations throughout their bodies.))

Sit outside patching up my suit.

Continue talking to the Zolids.
"Meh.  It's alright.  Not everyone can show up for target practice.  But what brings you travelers here?"

Do we have money?  If so, can we buy items?

Sit outside patching up my suit.

You focus on repairing the damage to your suit. Several Gabbos ride back and forth on an electric buggy, salvaging the remains of the agricultural suits, but otherwise the street is more or less quiet. With no distractions, you quickly finish the repairs.

Kyle raises his eyebrow.
"Oh, really?"

James grins, "Yep. You and your friends handled yourselves pretty well out there, eh? It's been ages since I've seen such a straight shot with a 6-shooter."

"Meh.  It's alright.  Not everyone can show up for target practice.  But what brings you travelers here?"

The Zolids nod stiffly, "We are simply passing through. We are, what is the word... Bounty hunting? Yes? Gweh and One-Eye were seen not too far from here."

Do we have money?  If so, can we buy items?

You have whatever money remains from your starting funds. Don't worry, you'll get an advance for the next mission.

Gweh and one eye?  I haven't heard of them.  Are they from around here?

Kyle scratches the back of his neck and shrugs.
"I do take pride in my ability to shoot straight."

Toss the empty mug at Kyle, and good-naturably shout over the din...
"That was luck and you know it!  Sure, you might be a good shot, but you're not that good!"

Gweh and one eye?  I haven't heard of them.  Are they from around here?

"I am constantly surprised by your lack of communications on the Frontier," the Zolid says. "Gweh the Mystic and One-Eye Blakka are leaders of a bandit gang further west of here. Gweh the Mystic came from the heartlands, preaching about his god Logulth and how he'd smash down the oppressors and tear down the laws." The warrior makes a grinding sound that probably signified disgust. Zolids don't believe in gods or spirits, and are comtemptous of anybody who do. "With such a philsophy he soon attracted a band of cut-throats and bandits, Blakka being chief among them. Since then they've robbed stage coaches, trains, even entire towns. Gweh would lead them into the heartlands when people tried to stop them, only to appear days later far away. But recently they were seen heading east, far out of their territory. With such a bounty on their heads and so far from the heartlands. they will not escape again. If we do not succeed, then someone else will."

Kyle scratches the back of his neck and shrugs.
"I do take pride in my ability to shoot straight."

Howard nods, "Good. I could use a couple more guys like you."

Robert and James exchange a glance, but say nothing.

I smile as the mug that Kyle didn't see beans him in the head.

Howard grins. "That's your friend there, Kyle?"

Kyle rubs the back of his head where he was hit before nodding to Howard.
"He's more a colleague but yes, we know each other. Also it's nice to be appreciated."

"Wait, did you say bounty?  How much are we talking here?"

"12,000 Zesg for the pair, dead or alive. The largest bounty ever on record. Of course the money will have to be split between the group, but 1000 Zesg is enough for a nice farm."

Kyle rubs the back of his head where he was hit before nodding to Howard.
"He's more a colleague but yes, we know each other. Also it's nice to be appreciated."

"Well, friend or not, invite him over here. I've got a proposition for the pair of you, and any other colleagues you want to call up."
