Ok that's not bad, I could even reconsider going BH.

Anyone know a way to trade items between my characters? I'm thinking selling overpriced junk to one character, then sending back the item for the same amount of money in the bazaar, but is there an easier way?

You can log on with two characters from the same account at the same time. If your computer can handle two instances of the game you can just straight up trade I think.

You could always use the bazaar if it was shoved in something indistinct like a backpack, although that does have the risk of someone else sniping it.

And, hm. That's a fair point, but I still don't know what I'll be doing. I do really wanna shipwright, so maybe I'll respec to that in a few months / years / decades when the profession gets integrated properly, if not space combat. But structures is something I've never touched when I've dabbled in armour, but maybe I'll just say fuck it and do that anyway. Armoursmith is easier to dabble in anyway, really, given the position of the skill mods.

You could also plop down a small house somewhere and allow your characters to access the contents, but that's going to be a bit inconvenient unless you put your house down in a PC city with a shuttleport.

Ok, I didn't know that, since most modern MMORPGs don't let you log in twice in an account (I think?).

That being said, they were iffy about that, but that might have only been when Basilisk was still being stress-tested, mostly because of the relatively low server capacity. Don't know if that still holds now.

Well, it could mean I can macro my artisan while I kill stuff with my shooty-toon so I don't get bored :P

EDIT: Here it is

Quote
General account information:
One person can only have 1 account (Check our Website terms of service)
One account can have 2 characters online at the same time (check How to run multiple instances guide)
One account can have 10 characters created total

Creating characters, 24 hours rule, deleting, character names and bugs
Only 1 character can be created every 24 hours
If you try to create a new character before those 24 hours are up, timer is reset and you have to wait full 24 hours from that point in time
If you delete a character before 24 hours is up, timer is reset and you have to wait 24 hours
Names of deleted characters need to be cleared from the database before they are reused, so you need to wait for a server crash or a restart before you can reuse the name
Staff can not lift those restriction you have to wait.

Indeed, and between that and the 10 character slots, it is the opinion of some players that this is a bad idea. Where the original game had problems of inflation, with the devs constantly making money easier to get, SWGEMU actually has problems of deflation: so many people run their own artisans that the market is saturated with Stuff, so to sell it's all for cheap or below-cost. This might be exacerbated by the fact that the open-ended/player driven/sandbox aspects of SWG is what people are most nostalgic for, given the combat kind of sucked, so the population of crafters is relatively higher to the total population than it was back then. There have been a few suggestions on how to combat this, namely by increasing the severity of item decay or making cities cost resources to maintain, so as to have something to dump all the extra resources into, but chiefly I've seen a lot of comments that people are waiting for the Suncrusher server, which will be limited to one toon only (and possibly only one character slot), or at least a server wipe to Basilisk.

On the other hand, one could argue that the goal right now isn't necessarily to have balanced gameplay (since the gameplay isn't even complete), so the "loose" account rules help players try more things at once and find more bugs.

Well, tonight I'll take my first crack at Weaponsmithing. Depending on how much other people actually succeed at doing architecture, I might get into armorsmithing or architecture- I did want to make buildings, but, if other people got there first then, hey, maybe I can just bum some off of you guys.

Also, pro tip: If you rushed through the engineering tree to grab a more advanced profession, don't forget to do the domestic arts as well. It gives bonuses to assembly/experimentation of everything you craft. For that matter, make sure you're experimenting on anything you want to actually use- you have to use a public crafting terminal and have a crafting kit of the appropriate type.

On that note, if anyone wants shitty houses or sofas, yell. I could always do with the massive chunk of XP that comes with dumping a couple of thousand resources into a building. Can only make the basic of most basic things right now, but that'll grow in time.

On which note: Anyone have a particular planet they want to call home?

To be honest. I'm kinda running out of things to do. I mean, once you get a set of composite and a good weapon, what else is there to shoot for? Jedi isn't in, theres only one themepark, which I might look into going through. I mean other than sightseeing, what's left? Pvp doesn't really interest me at all... I guess I could set up a house on a remote spot on a dangerous planet and just decorate it. Just doesn't seem to be much in the game to shoot for. I'm just hard pressed to think of anything to do other than wander about aimlessly looking at scenery.

To me, it seems like the only interesting end goal is to make a city of your own. I just started weapon crafting and it looks like the most boring possible thing to do; in that the weapons I can make are barely better than the starter CDEF weapons and survival knife, and they give very XP per craft (so, more clicking to advance than other professions) I'm almost considering just dropping it instead- architecture DOES seem interesting in that I'll be limited by how many resources I can get rather than time I want to spend clicking repetitively. I'm also disappointed with the XP rewards for making vehicles- they take 4-8 thousand units of ferrous and non-ferrous metal, but only award about 12-1800 experience points. How much XP do buildings reward? I'd also consider armor crafting for a similar reason. Hell, maybe tailoring, just because nobody does it.

Edit: Is there any rumor of pet AI coming soon? It would be neat to get into Droid Engineer, and already be into it a ways when actual droids become useful.

Practice mode gives more exp if you're making useless junk for exp.
