Test if I can control the vine I added. If I can, purchase a plane ticket to Atlanta, Georgia, and find some Kudzu there.
Gosh darn it. Everyone's abandoning Chicago. What, you don't want to live in a radioactive city where there's a bunch of new supers?
You can kinda control it, but not well. It's kinda like if you were holding a prosthetic arm in your arms and were trying to do stuff with it.
Gnaw through the mech!
[3] You stop after a bit, but before you double your next dentist bill.
Get a 24-hour gym membership. Then sleep in the locker room of said gym.
Wait, membership to a 24-hour gym or membership to a gym that lasts 24 hours?
You do, [3] managing to squeeze in a locker. It's big enough for you and your clothes, but not much else, and it's not comfortable. Also, you get woken up every so often when someone opens the locker and discovers you in it. A couple of them started to report a dead body stuffed in the locker before you could stop them.
pay a visit to the source, beat the everliving shit out of them abd demand phlebotinum.
[4] The supplier--a company called Buy-A-Power--is in Chicago. You quickly locate the source. It's an apartment building [5] pretty far from the blast site. You enter the building, locate the right apartment, and knock on the door.
"Hello? Who is this?"
Adi looks to see who's following her.
Two villains of Leadfist's: Quasit and Slash'n'Blast. They're both in civilian clothes, but they have somewhat distinctive appearances--especially Slash. Slash'N'Blast is a bit plasticky, brittle and pretty vulnerable to flames but tough against most attacks and kinda quick. She also has a bit of super strength, regeneration, and--her schtick--the ability to generate temporary plastic, typically for use as weapons. As for Quasit...his powers vary. The spirit in him tends to choose ones that work well together and well with the situation, though, so that's something. Also remember that Merrow would be willing to step in if a fight started.
Good. Go to the Zoo, take a tour, leave. Then acquire Cleaning Van.
...Okay. [5] You've got one. What's a Cleaning Van, and by "Zoo" do you literally mean, say, the Lincoln Park Zoo or what?
"Hope you're feeling better, little girl. Couldn't save your arm, sorry," Oszkar explains. Eh, she's young. She'll probably adapt. Eventually. Tragedies are best when they happen to the young - they can handle it far better.
Find somebody obviously dead. Try... reshaping said dead person with my abilities.
You hope.
You find a corpse. [1] Nothing.
Ferris scowls at the woman. She reminds him of his mother, Golden Saint. She used to use her powers to heal up all the cuts and bruises Ferris gained during his "training" wouldn't want the neighbors to notice the abuse after all. How convenient for her. This strange woman even looks a bit like her, but Ferris manages to keep himself from lashing out.
After a moment of awkward silence Ferris gives the woman a disgusted look and walks off without saying another word.
Get out of this pit of disgusting Superheros and pitiful mewling wounded.
You leave.
"Well, I think tha--" Irving looked to where he thought the other guy was last to see him not there in fact. He's been talking to himself again hasn't he? ...That guy was real, right? Love winced and looked down at his wound. Yeah, he was real. Well, he should probably get this fixed, yeah... Irving went off looking for a place where he could possibly scavenge medical supplies, maybe an old hospital or the such. Usually he's leery of such places as they're always inhabited, but he should probably get this fixed... He'll keep trying to both avoid the monsters as well as screen himself from their thoughts.
[3,6] Irving locates a drug store near some kind of crowd, completely abandoned from the looks of it! Excellent! He starts grabbing some Band-Aids and aspirin, when he hears someone behind him.
"Don't move. Hey, Fred, Jamie, we got another hostage."
Looking behind him, he notes a slimy-tan-skinned guy with green-brown hair, four arms like tentacles below the elbow, with lumps under his shirt and small, knobbly ears, several black eyes, short hoofed bowlegs, and a neck that sticks out forward, with all--its?--eyes blinking. Behind him, you see a guy with flowered, angular vines for arms and an unusually...statue-like, unblemished woman. Behind them, a man is tied up, with what seem to be scabs over his wrists.
"'Ey, Oct--"
"Tavius, now."
"Tavius, what's that on his head?"
The vined thing is pointing a vine at Irving...
Dawn is breaking...
