Wow, I'm surprised to see this kind of thread on the internet, although I probably shouldn't be considering this is Bay12.
I usually try to be nice to people around me whenever I can, even try to be always helpful and nice to people in your work-place seems to be not a standard thing. You know there's a big difference between people that, when you ask them something they just shrug and say go ask that guy instead, and the people that take the time to make sure that you got what you wanted or found the answer you needed or whatever. But some people are just dicks and will take out all their stress and frustation on you, even at work.

But then other things like giving what change or small bills you have to a homeless man on the street, offering a ride to someone that was running after a bus and didn't catch it, just being kind to people and offering help whenever you can... I'm sure all that doesn't really add up to anything in the long run and I probably look like an idiot whenever I do that. My gf certainly doesn't like it when I empty out my coins into a begger's cup, but I don't really care what the others think because I know even if it doesn't make a difference on the big scale it still makes a big difference on the individual level, even if only for just one day.

Anyway I think this thread is an awesome idea and I hope it makes a difference for someone. I don't know how you have such a huge collection of games you can give away. Is it possible to trade away games that you've already played on Steam or gamersgate and such? I do have a pretty big collection of games (around 90% of which I don't even play any more), but probably there's no way to give them away, right?
However I can offer to buy new ones as gifts. I'm not a rich man to give out $60 titles left and right, but I can offer a few people who ask any game from gog.com up to $15 or any other giftable game up to the same price. I could recommend some indie titles like FTL and Flotilla. Rogue Legacy is another one that comes to mind.
Anyway I'm doing this because I think the OP's idea is really great and I hope his goals work out (that people recieving these gifts will go and do something kind in return), so if you get the game from me you have to promise to do something nice and kind like the OP wants! (or maybe I should just send some gift codes for the OP to give out, but I don't know what game people would want...)

I'd love to get Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon (Indie Gala)! In return, I can gift the following games:

- Two copies of Shoot Many Robots (Great fun in co-op! I will gift them bundled together for this purpose).
- Sanctum (Indiefort bundle)
- AirBuccaneers (Indiefort)
- Awesomenauts (Indiefort)
- Alien Shooter 2 (Gamersgate)
- Alien Shooter (Gamersgate)
- Zombie shooter (Gamersgate)
- Empire Earth 2: Gold Edition (Gamersgate)
- Storm Over The Pacific (Gamersgate)

Cheers!

AWESOME! Thanks! Will take care of this when I get some actual time! :)

Amazing people are amazing :)

You, sir, are an amazing person. Feel free to pick any game on the list in the OP :)

Most of these games come from bundles (Humble, Indie Royale, Indie Gala, Indie Fort, etc). I usually get them for a single game or so, and I know I won't enjoy the others as much as some others, so I just give them away. Most bundles these days give separate Steam keys for each game, so as long as you keep track of what you have and what you've given away, it's easy :)

Indie Gala in particular seems to be having these happy hours, and if you originally bought the bundle, and then buy it again as a gift, they will give you quite a few copies of the bundle for free. Right now I'm not in a situation where I can risk spending any money right now, but if I could I would buy those bundles. I think I must've spent like $15-$20 on Indie Gala that one time, and ended up with 8x copies of 8 games to give away, so that's 64 games right there! If you can and are willing, perhaps that would be most "efficient" way of getting games to give away :)

And again, it's always a pleasure to see someone so attuned to being nice, independently of how society tells you to behave :)

Thanks, but actually most of the games you have there I've either played or don't really have much interest in :)
I was actually posting only to offer some more games for this wonderful thread, but still not sure what's the best way to do it. I know you said to buy some bundles as gifts, but, see the problem with that is that it limits choice. Probably shouldn't be too much of a problem since a gift is a gift, haha, but like take me as example the games on the list don't really interest me. That's why I just threw out the offer of any $15 game. You could choose one yourself and then gift it along!

Added all of Shadowgandor's amazingly generous gift of games to the list!

- Shoot Many Robots x2 (thanks Shadowgandor!).
- Sanctum (thanks Shadowgandor!)
- AirBuccaneers (thanks Shadowgandor!)
- Awesomenauts (thanks Shadowgandor!)
- Alien Shooter 2 (thanks Shadowgandor!)
- Alien Shooter (thanks Shadowgandor!)
- Zombie shooter (thanks Shadowgandor!)
- Empire Earth 2: Gold Edition (thanks Shadowgandor!)
- Storm Over The Pacific (thanks Shadowgandor!)

Guitarxe, would you like me to put the offer up on the main post? You might get too many people asking for $15... perhaps we can let whoever is actually reading through the thread ask you for a game? :)

Shoot Many Robots looks like buckets of fun!
In return I'll start ACTUALLY donating blood regularly. I did for a blood drive, but that was in march and I've been eligible to donate for a few months now. I know it saves lots of lives, and laziness is no excuse, really. I keep telling myself I will, soon, but then pushing it off. So I shall change that, and yell at others to do so too (even though most of my family is banned from blood donation. Silly mad cows.)

Put up guitarxe's amazing contribution to the thread up in the main post :)

I also though I'd bump this with a little clip that gets me every time, from one of the greatest movies of all time.

Is Metro 2033 still available? If so, sign me up for it.

Blood donations? Sure, I'll try to donate this summer.

The entire Summer! You can donate every 56 days, and if you do it twice, that's double the lives saved! And if you ask them they might even give you a fun little sticker with a blood drop guy on it. Who doesn't need more stickers in their lives?

I feel like I've started a trend here :S

Heh. I might not donate once every 56 days, but I'll try to donate often. =P
