Search the church and barricade the doors.

I blocked the doors and windows with the church chairs and after searching the backrooms you find a few books as well as the final page of the pastor's journal before he died. And searching the bathrooms you find some flammable toilet bowl cleaner and toilet paper, but nothing to start a fire with.

Plan!

Grab something biggish, ugly, and fragile and lug it to the second story.

Locate a window on the second story.

I try to find something, but all I can do is make a garbage bag full of glass and carry it to the steeple/bell tower.

Good enough.

Toss it from the steeple to attract all the zombies.

I throw the garbage bag of glass off of the steeple, but unfortunately the zombies know the difference between a bag of glass and a living organism. Glass shards do manage to kill one of them, which is good news since there were three to begin with. But these two zombies that are left also know how to climb, and are now heading up the steeple.

"Hm. No, that would probably destroy the church."

Knock each zombie off the roof with the crook when it nears the top.

I simply take my crook and knock the two zombies off the steeple, and they both hit the ground on their heads, killing them both, but unfortunately, I've broken my crook in two because I hit the second too hard out of fear, I might as well keep the pointed end that ended up with a point as a simple weapon. Suddenly the very ground trembles, and the entire steeple comes crashing down with me in it, I've severely injured my left arm, but it is still functional.

Wonder how the steeple broke.

Check for further zombies in the area.

The steeple was probably weak from the initial eruption, and the aftershock caused by the initial eruption must have brought it down. I think to myself, anyway, I don't live in a populated area, and any undead near here probably went to try to find people in metropolises like Carbondioburg, which just so happens to be down the highway, about ten miles from here. Anyway, no zombies that I can see from here.

That's good.

Attempt to locate some sort of agricultural material.

The farmer's market down the street down the road has some stuff, so I go there to investigate. When I get there, all of their plant seeds are useless due to being covered in zombie guts due to an apparent last stand of the shopkeeper, but I can salvage a few rolls of duct tape, a heavy, metal ended rake, and a few bottles of Coke-cola and Pepsi-cola out of the vending machines. As I walk out I accidentally bump my injured left arm against a large nail sticking out of the doorway and it begins bleeding profusely.

Wait, why would covering seeds with zombie guts make them useless?

Because...science says it...would turn you into a zombie if you ate the plant...or the seed. Yes, you would turn into a zombie if you ate the seed or plant, because seeds exposed to zombie guts are...plant zombies.
