Slow zombies? Pfft. Screw 'em, then. Ignore with the power of a thousand mighty suns until they get within, like, a 20 meter distance as long as you're not cornered. In that case, run away. Not like they can catch you like that. Worst case scenario, climb a tree, telephone pole or some other thing fulfilling similar criteria.

Consider where you are, since you have been blasted into the sky. Is it a tiny asteroid, a large asteroid, still the planet, where? It's not terribly clear at the moment. Are there places to run, places to be, anything in the distance? Is there air that isn't rapidly escaping the area, and is there weather? Can you still see the sun? How have the explosions affected the ecosystem?

I remember reading a book detailing the exact size of this world to be the size of Russia, so I won't be able to simply walk around to get out of here. I also remember reading about a wormhole to other voids that are normal, not floating, and devoid of zombies, but I can't remember where this wormhole would be. Right now I'm lucky to remember that, I still don't know what gender I am.

And 36 zombies aren't exactly easy to fight off with a crook, and we aren't exactly Thor.

Since our name is Clair, it is entirely reasonable to say we are male. Our parents wanted a girl. Your friends used to call you Clark, but they're all dead, so you'll have to stick with your birth name.

But what of the ecosystem? Are there trees? Is there grass? What about other animals except for zombies?

Also, where exactly are we? Inside the house, presumably, yes, but what of its general layout? How many floors? Is there an attic? How about a basement?

Are the zombies all around us, or do they concentrate in specific places?

Are they aware of us?

Have we barricaded the doors and windows?

What resources are available to us?

Looking outside, I see that I live in an open grassy plane, and I see a few escaped sheep that we used to herd.

I live in a small village. My house is three floors, but the basement collapsed, and the roof as caved in on the attic, so I only have this one floor. The zombies are all in front of the street and still approaching. I can't see anything but my TV anywhere near here.

Nothing to it, then. Grab any stuff you've got lying around that isn't likely to weigh you down too much, then get out through the back entrance or a window in such an opportune location. The sheep will slow you down if you take them along, and leaving them behind is likely to distract the zombies a bit. Once you're out, run away.

I get some unspoiled soup cans out of my fridge and attempt to walk on foot, the zombies are unable to follow me due to their walking speed being slower than mine, and eventually eat my livestock. Again, as I can tell, there are corpses everywhere, meaning I'm the only survivor. I've gotten over the loss of my loved ones now due to stress and more important things and I can focus my abilities more.

Look for the cause of death on corpses - blunt force trauma, bites, burns? Something else?

What I see is a truly gruesome sight, these victims had their internal organs ripped out from the insides. This was not the work of zombies, or these corpses wouldn't be corpses, but the walking dead. What could have done this?

Oh, right.

Fortify shelter. Only we're not there anymore. Phooey. We need to sleep some time, you know; remember the Tortoise and the Hare?

Locate shelter.

I decide that it is time to sleep, seeing as I haven't slept in days. Besides, I need to rest and think after seeing the gruesome sight of those corpses. I sleep in the local church, feeling thirsty, I first drink the baptism water, which I hope isn't a crime or anything, then I sleep in one of the chairs. After I wake up I hear more moaning just outside the church doors, and I can't tell their numbers.

Quick recap

We are the survivor of a volcanic eruption that blasted our entire world into the sky, zombie apocalypse, and whatever else is going on. We are a shepard named Claire. We've left home carrying food, a backpack, and our shepard's crook trying to find a wormhole out of this world. We have just recently found horribly mutilated bodies with all of their organs ripped out. Right now we are in a church with and unknown number of zombies outside.
