Nilus the Impaler can be a thing, if you use the rename script of dfhack.
See your dfhack init:

# gui/rename script - rename units and buildings
keybinding add Ctrl-Shift-N gui/rename
keybinding add Ctrl-Shift-T "gui/rename unit-profession"

oh sweet, i completely forgot about that XD
dont suppose you would know why im able to assign some of my bone golems to a area like a pet but not others?

Yes, maybe I do know.

The golems retain their alliance. Pets become pet-golem, friendlies (like caravans) become friendly golems, hostiles become hostile golems...

So, I started up a fort with the intention of exploring magic, seeing as I haven't done anything with it yet. By coincidence, I have a skymage in my embark group. I'm taking that as a sign that things will go well.

weird, the thing is that all the golems that have been brought back are so far just my dwarves, it might be that only the ones that died in the military can be controlled, at least thats my guess

4th Migrant wave came with 2 arcane dwarves and an ashkin. At this rate, I'm not even gonna need to make anyone else a mage :) I'll be keeping a close eye on that ashkin though. Previous experience with fire mages has resulted in FUN!!

speaking of !!FUN!! I just had my earthkin finish his stonemancer training... came out with a Curse of Stonemancer, and now the final stage, for mastering it, wont work on him.

It probably has something to do with his being on fire.

Embarked with a mason's guild member and some other dudes.

Dug out enough soil layer to plant some farms.

had everyone dump their clothes (except the mason) and sent them back to the surface to wrestle some saltwater crocodiles that were hanging around while the mason walled in the entrance.

Fort Lonely Guy has officially begun!

Give a dwarf a fish, you feed him for a season.
Give a dwarf a Fishpond, couple of buckets, build a Fishery, and enable Fishfarming labor; you feed him for a lifetime. (And get someone to clean and prep the fish)

He's not on fire. I was using dwarf therapist and his name was highlighted in purple (forgot to turn off the cursed creatures highlighted). Moused over it, and at the bottom i see "Curse: A *Stonemancer*"    (similar to the "Curse: A Vampire")

I understand; I was just making a joke about how you described the Fun as being on fire (denoted by the exclamation points surrounding the Fun.)

Neat to look at, thought I'd share: second caverns, my volcano goes through the water, next to a magma pool:

So, in a bit of a cheaty fort I was doing to learn the ropes, I got a Psyker in a migrant wave. He seems to enjoy throwing magic bolts at critters, and became mayor, later Baron (why is it always the weird ones?). He also is completely obsessed with journals, mandating the production of dozens of them, and then banning their export for some inane reason. I stockpiled them all in his room, so he can enjoy them properly.
