Now that ought to be good enough as an introduction! In the old thread, there was a call for an abridgement near its end. I did begin, but progress was slow. Hard work!

.......GOOD LORD, THAT'S THE ABRIDGED VERSION?! I remembered it going on for a good long while, but jesus!

Anyways, I'm for this coming back, though if I might make a suggestion, having a strictly enforced OOC thread might be a good idea. We can hash out ideas there, come to a consensus, and then suggest them without getting the thread locked due to massive flame wars

No. I suppose there are similarities, but I'm fairly certain angry birds doesn't let me charge into a battalion of knights with a car made of circular saws.

I'd be all for bringing it back should Mal be willing and able at some point in the future.

I think one of the things we'd have to watch out for in something like this is an overdone "sense of ownership." Seems to me a lot of the fighting was due to different people having different visions of how things were gonna happen. Fact is, everybody's not gonna win, cause not everybody can.

Lots of people wanted some sort of ponds where we'd raise fish on a large scale (stupid pun intended). We ended up with more traditional livestock like sheep and some cattle. Doesn't mean ... raising fish ... (aquaculture?) is wrong, but... I suppose we couldn't have both.

That kinda seemed to be the root of what ended up tearing it up, sadly. Two possible solutions:

A.) Somehow get more cooperative and defer to other people's ideas.
B.) Quantum Solution~
Let's use the above example of agricultural development. Let's say there are two sides, of a mutually exclusive decision like specialization in land livestock and one who wants more... sea? livestock? (fishstock?). Well. Maybe they can both win, by using the idea we aren't applying to Stone's land to a different land. This has the benefit of fleshing out the rest of the world while letting the people who proposed the less popular idea get some gratification. So, say, one of the other neighboring counties or countries has ... fish raising ... as a major thing, I suppose. Doesn't seem to work so well with decisions that can't be duplicated like battle strategies and whatnot, but for developmental purposes it might be handy. Just a thought; use it if you want, or not.

Well, back to the main argument, with a much needed correction of my original statement.

Iron grenades did exist in the 1300-1400 time period, having appeared in China in the 12the century. (Gunpowder invented between the 8th and the 10th). However, these were mainly incendiary devices, due to the composition of the gunpowder. (Flamethrower invented in the 10th century). The Real explosive gunpowder was perfected in the mid of the fourteenth century, but didn't arrive in Europe before 1450's. It's unlikely that the Chinese would be willing to give away these secrets, and European chemistry wasn't advanced enough to produce gunpowder anyway. Gunpowder is fairly hard and dangerous to store, and has a tendency of being ruined if it gets wet. Something that's nearly unavoidable during long seatravel, or extended journey by land without proper care.

Most probably, the Sea raiders managed to get their hands on some older, incendiary granades, probably from the islamitic world. Explains why they weren't used to breach the siege. (Stone doesn't burn) and why they were so effective at stopping the siege. (Horses do burn, as does Count Stone).

Edit: Also people. Keep Calm, Carry on, and press reread your posts before posting.
Edit 2: Originally intended to be posted in the main thread, to correct some incorrect statements made earlier. It was locked a short time before the post was finished,so...
