I have similar issues with crashes when playing on the netbook, with paint and therapist and notepad++ and chrome open. Its simply the ram. Real crashes of the mod are luckily quite rare.

Posting to Watch, this should be quite fun to read.

Oh, whoops. I forgot about this. Sorry, guys.

I'll have to ask for my turn to be postponed indefinitely. I'm a bit too preoccupied for DF.

Question! I see a lot of confusing retroactively canceled turns... Where is the save file I need for my turn? I want to make sure I have it right...

I update "The Most Recent Save" in the first post each time a turn is done, that way all the landmarks stay in, even if Twoflower has done nothing but dream yet.  Always use the "The Most Recent Save" link.

Okay, I see it now. I'll get started tomorrow. To be clear, when it comes time to adventure away with Twoflower, when you say I should go to the first destination the companion mentions, does that mean any location? Only player-built sites? Only sites (towns, towers, caves, etc.)? Or does it include entire regions (a forest, plains, etc.)?

When you recruit the companion, begin a conversation with them.
On the list of topics, choose "Surroundings".
The first thing that the companion replies with, you go and see.  If they mention that some kind of wild animal is there, the wild animal is the target.  If they say that a specific person is there, that person is the target.  Otherwise, the place is the target.  Journey there, describing the journey and keeping Twoflower alive and whole, get a screenshot of the target, then go retire in a village somewhere.

As an example, I asked my companion "Bobbi" about Surroundings and she replied with this place where a Titan was, so that Titan was the target.  I credited another person with saying it, because it was better for the story, but that's the raw mechanics of it.

Twoflower has no fame whatsoever right now, so he may have to go hire a military type outside his starting point or use DFhack to force someone to be his companion instead.  Both are viable options.

If the companion mentions a region, then that's a viable target.  Remember: the focus of this is to get a good set of stories together about "The Luckiest Tourist EVER", so take whatever creative license you need to make it a good tale.

OK. Doesn't seem too likely that he'll end up at very many player-built areas that way though. Or are we supposed to take him to side-trips on the way there or back, so he can see the player sites?

The idea is that Twoflower will perform a sort of random set of journeys, which may include player made landmarks as either the focus or along the way, much like the scenic detours people on holiday often take on their way to some other destination.

Having an NPC determine a journey's focus makes predicting where the Tourist will journey next a bit more difficult.

Regardless, I plan to use Jappa's Isoworld utility to make a full map of the entire island once the game is completed, labeling all the Player made structures as well as all the major towns and posting a link to that in this group as well, so you all have a map of the world everyone has helped fill with awesomeness.

OK. One last question and I'll get started: are we permitted to cheat with DFHack while building our sites, or do we have to do it slow and just get done as much as possible before the 5 years is up? ie Can I use fastdwarf and autodump to make sure I get my stuff done before my time limit is up?

Sorry if these questions have already been answered. I've been really brainfogged and it's really helpful to have all the answers right here in one spot rather than trying to dig through the thread without forgetting what my question was. Thanks.
