The two armies bellow challenges at one another. Their front lines ripple as the bloodthirsty troops creep forward in hot-blooded anticipation, just before their officers roar and whip them back into formation. The twisted hordes of the Dark Lord Batrummán face off against the collected remnants of the four great races of the earth. All other strongholds have fallen, and the last glimmer of civilisation in the known world remains here, at the ancient Dwarven hold of Gygramout, the single mightiest piece of architecture in existence, and a maze of traps and determined warriors. The main forces meet the enemy at the mouth of the Great Passage, a five kilometre tall stone doorway that once protected the glittering citadel that lies within, to slaughter as many of the enemy as they can before retreating back within the mountain.

The battlefield is wide and flat, with the Collected forces arranged in a partial ring covering the narrow mouth of the Great Passage, their final preparations still being made. The evil that makes up the Horde of Batrummán surrounds them entirely, and the massed group of goblins, orcs, ogres, trolls, and traitorous Collected is so vast that it stretches beyond the horizon. They only wait for their shadowy Lord to order them forward.

There is no hope for victory, only a costly, and certainly legendary, combat.

Turn 0

Xantolos
The orcs are at the front. They're always at the front. Your blade-bearing brothers nearby holler blood challenges and paint tribal war patterns across their battle-born bodies. Your brothers are concentrated in the centre of the line and spread across the entire front, where they'll do the most damage when the armies crash into one another. Your mind races in nervous anticipation of the coming battle.

Your Tanker, Tl'zurr, pulls and tugs as he checks your unit over for the thirteenth time. You shrug him off and he growls at you. You punch him hard in the arm and he barks angrily. You bare your teeth and he grumbles, bending to sling his leather toolbag over one shoulder and working his thin cleaver in its sheath. Its better to leave nothing to chance brother.

You grimace at his wisdom, and wave dismissively at him. He shrugs and goes back to checking over his tools once again.

killerhellhound
Your flame unit feels unbearably heavy, like a massive boulder slung is against your shoulders. You pull at the straps anxiously and your Tanker, Halls, loosens them for you. Just relax buddy. I know it feels heavy but its just jitters. Y'know? You nod silently and wet your lips. You feel so thirsty.. Halls hands you his water pouch and you take several huge gulps from it. He takes it back and stoppers it, tying it securely back to his belt. You turn your gaze to face the vast army stretched out before you. You look around at the others. Elves, Humans, Dwarves and Orcs alike. All of them show their fear; even if not outright, it still shines behind their blank faces from their treacherous eyes. You suddenly feel very calm, and Halls claps you reassuringly on one shoulder.

GreatWyrmGold
You stand tall amongst the front along the right flank. Your Tanker, Tasali, rests her hands on the rapier sheathed at her left hip while she surveys the enemy arrayed before you. She frowns as she sees something, and you follow her gaze. Your eyes fall upon a squad of traitor elves in jet-black armour wielding massive claymores milling around almost immediately across from you several hundred feet away. The Dark Lord Batrummán's elite shock troops, you've fought them several times before, and their ferocity and speed is unmatched even by most orc berserkers. You will relish meeting them on the field, and you get the feeling that Tasali is having like thoughts.

kj1225
Gazo, your Tanker, plants his longsword in the dirt and leans on it. How much longer do you think we'll have to wait, do you think? You shrug, and tear a chunk out of a hunk of stale bread you found in your pocket. He snorts. How can you be eating at a time like this? You give him a disinterested look, then shrug again. He laughs quietly to himself and shuffles his feet, moving the dirt at his feet with his toe. He sighs absentmindedly, removing one of his gloves and scratching at the stubble on his chin.

Flying Dice
Wexdarn makes some final adjustments to the torch, then reattaches it to your hip holster, made of several runes of holding to keep it out of the way when not needed and avoid a clumsy draw when entering combat. You thank him and he nods, returning to his place at your side. You eye his rifle curiously and he holds up the beautifully shaped tool for you to examine. You find yourself tempted and reach out to touch it, but he holds it away from you. He explains. They're a bit volatile in the hands of others. You raise one eyebrow and he goes back to cradling the strange weapon protectively. You sigh mentally at being seated with a dwarf as your Tanker.

I suppose, but do you have to check over it thirteen times? The Kurgan aches for combat.

Await combat. Refer to self in the third person.

Nodding at his tanker Mark puts on his helmet before heading over to another flame unit chewing on some bread. Remembering a name Kyle Mark asks "Hey Kyle want to stick together and take more of these buggers to hell."
(just wondering are the flame units safe to walk in fire.)

IF THE ELVES ARE IN RANGE:

"Shall we get started?"

Fire off a Meteor at one of the lead elves.

IF THEY ARE NOT:

"This is the part I hate most...the waiting.

Wait.

Kerys chuckles, stroking the smooth handle of her flamer, "Fair enough, Wex, fair enough. I've got my own baby to look after."

Smile coldly, wait.
