Started a formic hive. Built on an evil mountain and untamed wilds. So many panserblekks, who are so very skittish. Kind of wish they were more dangerous. Also wish they were war tameable. Have a couple pictures which I will add later when I have more time.
On thing of note, traders arrived towards the end of my last session and exploded in the depot. The only thing I noticed in the early stages burning were panserblekk leather boots.
Report from the frontier hive, Leashesdark, at the base of The Vile Mountains opening onto the WHite Plains. From the desk of the regent of The Tricks of Elder.
1st Granite, 501: We have arrived at the base of this cursed mountain, lying right at the edge of untamed wilds. By order of the Everqueen we will tame this land in the name of the hive. As I survey the lands I see... Fuck, Panserblekks. DIG YOU BASTARDS!
8th Granite, 501: They are slithering around above us, doing our best to dig deep and quietly.
7th Slate, 501: This mountain is rich in ore and coal, while panserblekks and hounds roam the plains. I demand an army of warbeasts.
1st Malachite, 501: Migrants have arrived! All of the soldier caste too. A shame right now we need manual labor. I feel their skills will go to waste.
20th Galena, 501: Traders. Traded for whatever food we could afford.
21st Limestone, 501: More migrants. A few smiths in the group. It is time to begin a metals industry.
1st Sandstone, 501: Panserblekks, for all their horror stories, are actually fairly tame. They run form us more than them. I wonder how well they make for beasts of war.
23rd Sandstone, 501: Elves sent an emissary, complained about our clear cutting operations. Spat in his androgynous humanoid face. He seems to have taken that as assent to his demands we cut less trees. I do not understand these creatures. Seized many of their goods.
7th Moonstone, 501: The Everqueen's justice reaches out even to such a remote outpost as this. Our Ashalim punished a worker for lazily avoiding my demands. Had the corpse dragged out front as a message while we dig out catacombs for burial. All hail the Everqueen!
18th Opal, 501: Winter. The brook has frozen. Snow covers everything and it is so very cold.
8th Obsidian, 501: Well that was a quick winter. Everything has thawed already.
26th Granite, 502: More migrants. By the Everqueen's grace two animal trainers have been sent to us. Time to start an operation to capture panserblekks en masse,
11th Slate, 502: Our Ashalim has doled out the Everqueen' s justice again. Thankfully he has learned restraint and did not kill this one. He is the first patient in our newly carved hospital.
21st Felsite, 502: Elves. Bastards. Want to trade. An immigrant glassmaker has been taken by a mood, setup facilities for him and stole some sand from the elves. Can't wait to see his results.
15th Malachite, 502: Panserblekks aren't bright. I have dozens of them now.
18th Malachite, 502: The glassmaker is finished. Stonesavages, a set of green glass earrings with hanging rings of promethium. It depicts the rise of our great Everqueen Ashalim Teaglaciers. All hail the Everqueen.
7thGalena. 502: Damn, my trainers are telling me Panserbekks cannot be made into war beasts. Atleast they are a good source of meat
13thGalena, 502: Disaster! The traders unpacked their goods and something exploded. I blame the elves really. Killed 1 wax worker, 1 cart, and 1 trader And the elves have shown up now.. Suspicious!
