Quickly evolve a stomach before reality realises we don't have one.

*ahem*

It's not a bug, it's a feature!  The reason lancelets have to drag food back into the sealed shells to eat it is because it no longer has a digestive pouch, so it traps it in the shell and secretes digestive acids to absorb it.

Yeah.  That's it.  >_>

So after reading through Competition AND Adaptation, I'm going to participate in both (since I believe my contribution might be more noticeable in the long run here than there, given the point you're at).

+1 to everything said so far.
Also,

Allow us to "fire" parts of our (toxic) flesh through the proboscis, or whatever toxin we carry in it.
Develop eyestalks. Preferably multiple so that we have 360 degrees vision.
I'm assuming that's possible, I suck badly at suggestion games, mind you.

+1 preferably have it work the way it did before, because that was cool

While I am not entirely sure how our not-quite-so-effective immortality works at the moment, the idea of implanting globs of flesh into escaping critters for them to slowly waste away as a parasitic lancelet clone forms inside of them as does have some appeal.
Yes! +1 to firing parasitic flesh balls at our foes

Parasitism is a staple of the other game sadly, and omniparasitism doesn't work well.

As for how our technical immortality works, well, it would work, but it still hurts. It's a significant part of your body you're loosing, you know.

I know that firing pure toxin would be lame.
But once our regeneration gets even
 more rapid...

Think of the cloning possibilities!
Also, nobody likes eyestalks?

!
Develop the ability to inject fetuses into other fishthings which eat their way out after a while to facilitate spreading.

We will evolve into Cordyc sooner or later if we decide to go that path.

+1 to reefs (not sure how this is going to work if we are aggressive by nature though)
+1 to implanting fetuses (Though I imagine that they would be killed by whatever passes for an immune system).
+1 to scutes.
+1 the pheramone.
