Wait, why did we take his canvas? Arent there any spares?

Well, when you mentioned asking Jon Two about it, I assumed you wanted his canvas for some reason. Otherwise, what's there to ask about?

Flirt with Jon Two.

Rather than answer Jon Two's question, you go ahead and engage him in conversation.

"Thank you for allowing me to borrow your canvas, Jonathan."

"Nothing to it, really. Like I said, I am not in a painting mood."

"Right, you did say so. Is it because of the happenings in the world?"

"Oh, no. They, while quite distressing, are ultimately a passing thing."

"Then what is it, if it's not too much of an imposition to ask?"

"Well... I've just been feeling tired lately. A sort of weariness that brings you down, quite unquantifiable, but very... significant-seeming. And, more immediately, I heard that Jonathan One died a few days ago - nothing external, they say. He just... faded away, you know? Old age, they say."

He sighs.

"And you see, I was feeling just wonderful a month ago, but then this started, even before I heard of what's happening to One. And I'm Jonathan Two. You see my issue here?" he says earnestly, yet also with a hint of fatalism.

Ah. Wonder what you could tell the guy to perk him up. You guess he must be, like, fourteen years old already.

Ask him if he talked with his therapist about it.
Provided Jonathans have one. Drop some subtle keys into the direction of "It might be something else" nothing much more we can do for the poor guy.

Inertly think about the formalities on the death of an engineered person.

Do they get a funeral? Will the guys here gather for some mourning? Will his paintings be worth more after his death, as is customary?

"Have you talked to your therapist about this problem?"

"Yes, actually. It said not to worry about it, since even if it is death knocking on my door, there's really nothing one can do but accept it."

"One should keep a positive outlook, in any case. Negative thinking compounds one's health issues, no?"

"I suppose. Still, it's kind of like this haze has fallen over me. I've been, for lack of a better term, falling apart lately, and it feels... unnatural, somehow. Like I shouldn't be feeling like this at my age, that I should still be healthy. It's almost like I'm being poisoned somehow."

You think about what treatment Jonathan's likely to get - though you aren't sure when he'll kick the bucket, if he will at all, it can't be far off. You don't recall ever getting any information on engineered funerals. You wonder what one might be like.

I fear we are done here for the moment. Remembering the cake that Jasmine still would have to bake for us, we can offer him some - say, invite him for some tea tomorrow as thanks for using his canvas- if we get back at her now, she ought to finish it either this evening, or sometimes tomorrow morning. Unless you somehow remember that Jonathans don`t have a sweet tooth or something, or like coffee better than tea.

Else, continue supportive small-talk untill the others finish / you can excuse yourself without hurting the poor sod.
We have a cake to order, afterall! Delicious cake... try to remember what our favorite cake is, and make sure she bakes that one. On the other hand, it is not far-fetched to presume that it will be her favorite cake as well - since we are a good winner, let`s also share some of it with the gaming group. But only some - the majority of it will be ours. They will understand. No, they will.

You suppose you have to do something to cheer Jonathan up, and you can't really think of anything better than cake. And since you don't recall ever finding anything out about

"Jonathan, perhaps you'd like to join me for some tea tomorrow? I mean, I did use your canvas, so I feel I should do something nice for you in return, yes?"

Jonathan thinks about your offer. You think the very idea of being offered something flatters him a little.

"I suppose I will. Do you have a particular time in mind? Lunchtime, perhaps?"

You suppose that's agreeable enough, though you might have to multitask a little. Also, looking around the room, you don't think anyone would particularly mind if you left, as long as you say goodbye beforehand. The other Jonathans seem to be finishing up their paintings, and you don't think Francis is going to be done for several more hours.

Excuse yourself for the day.
Do mention that it was very enjoyable, and reaffirm the plans for lunch. Cake is good at any time of the day!

After you have stepped outside, finally read those news on Truman Bach that is flickering in the back of your mind since what seems like... like days.
:P
Being considerate is hard work, but since you mostly held back you just might feel a slight sense of accomplishment. But now it really is time for some news. They could be important, you know?!

Find our victim lovely somewhat·sister Jasmine and relay your orders.
Entice her that the four of you will eat the rest sometime in the afternoon. Press the matter to be on time for jony2. Indulge in chatter about that topic if needed.

After all that we might want to call it a day, but we will see..

"Yes, lunchtime sounds good. See you then, I suppose."

"Certainly," Jonathan Two says, looking back at your second painting. You, seeing no better way to announce your plans to leave, just loudly excuse yourself.

"So, guys! This was certainly very enjoyable, you all, and I'm sad to say that I have to leave now."

The other Jonathans all unite in a mostly-synchronized "Bye, Jasmine!" as you leave. Francis, though, appears to be completely absorbed in his work. Oh well. You head out, looking for... wait, no. Something else first. Something very important. The news! Yes!

You immediately catch the article about Truman Bach-Handel's latest misadventures. The rather eccentric (though that word really doesn't mean anything anymore - everybody is odd in one respect or another now, what with the seemingly unlimited resources they have as naturals) fellow seems to have had the idea to organize this really naturalistic, spiritual-themed party in the Urals, and over three hundred people signed up. Today, after three solid weeks of partying, the orgies in the harsh ex-Russian wilderness seem to have subsided, much to the disappointment of the average viewing public, who have been following the event rather closely, but initial reports indicate that over 20 people have gone missing. It is suspected that many of them may have wandered off, and among them is the honored host Truman Bach-Handel himself - it is said that he may have wandered off in a southeastern-ish direction by fellow partygoers along with about ten others, and that he was rather high at that point.

God, that feels good. News are good for the brain, you think. But still, you've got some things to do, like find Jasmine Fifty-Three. This proves not too difficult - she is in her room, as you find out from Jasmine Fifty-Four. You press the door buzzer, and she opens the door. You're not sure why, as she could probably just speak to you through an intercom, but hey.

"Yes?" she asks, seemingly not particularly surprised by the fact you're here.

"I've figured out what I need you to do!"

"And?"

"You must bake me a cake. My favorite cake, in fact."

Jasmine Fifty-Three casts a doubtful look at you.

"And that would be... blueberry cheesecake, I guess?"

"Not really sure - haven't eaten cake before. I'm sure it'll be good, though."

"Very well. You plan on eating it all by yourself?"

"Oh, no. I invited that poor sod Jonathan Two over for tea, plus we'll eat anything that's left later on. You can get it done by lunchtime tomorrow, right?"

Jasmine Fifty-Three nods.

"Sure. No problem."

"Great! I'll be going now, then," you say, stepping away from the door and leaving Jasmine Fifty-Three to whatever she does in there.

Now, the question remains - it's almost eight, so you guess you could go to your room now. It's not very late, but you're really more of a morning person anyway. You have to be in this business. Alternatively, you could try to find more amusing distractions to busy yourself with.

I think we should go see the medbay and ask if we can see Mrs. Bartolucci.

You suppose there's still something to take care of - maybe you could see Ms. Bartolucci? Yeah, you suppose you'll do that. You head to the elevator and look for something kinda like a medbay. You think you know where the doctor's office is - maybe she's there? Or maybe they can at least point you in the right direction. Yeah, you guess you'll go there. You take a trip up to the eighth floor and step out into a rather lavish corridor - this is certainly the insurance and amenities level. You're not entirely sure why healthcare counts as an amenity, but you're sure that the infirmary is on this level.

Wandering around the place for a few minutes, you find a sign that seems to point to the on-site physician, and you follow the directions to the place. The door's unlocked, so you step right in.

This isn't the doctor's office, though. Looks more like a reception area, complete with a Jonathan who seems as much a fixture of the place as the potted plants that fill the room.

"Greetings," the secretary addresses you. "Do you have an appointment? We may need to reschedule it."

He leans in to whisper to you after looking around carefully.

"The doctor's taking care of Ms. Bartolucci - she was in a bad way this morning, don't you know."
