Dance around in our chemical suit? Probably not the best idea.

Focus on ECMTC negligence, say that we would like to think a bit before we collect our favor. Think about possible things we could do to humiliate 53.

Cake. We want cake.

Dance around in our chemical suit? Probably not the best idea.

Agreed. Not the best idea. (By the way, we have removed that horrible fashion faux pas a while ago. We are in uniform now.)

Express pleasure in the win, but in a gracious and friendly way. Chat a bit more, then determine our energy level. If it is reasonable, use our therapist. If not, sleep.

"Hmm... I'd like to think about it for a bit, if you don't mind, Jasmine," you say, as you wish to make this something good. "Anyway, good game, everyone. Guess anybody has to win sometimes, eh?"

"I don't mind, Jasmine. Better to consider these things well, right?" Fifty-Three agrees. "And it was pretty close, too, I'd say."

"You're lucky I didn't win, Jasmine," Fifty-Four says to Fifty-Three, giggling. "You remember last time, eh?"

"Yeah, that was a bit hard to explain afterwards, to be honest."

You feel you should probably figure out something slightly humiliating for Jasmine Fifty-Three to do. For one, she could bake you a cake. This, while not particularly humiliating, would be the tastiest alternative and promise the greatest physical reward for you. You love cake, after all. On a less simple-minded note, you could have her dance around in a chemical suit for your moral satisfaction. This would probably be pretty pointless, though a little entertaining. Also, you could have her eat something terrible, the classic, if a bit cliche. Finally, on a more personal note, you could ask her to hit on Javier Twenty-Five, one of the security guards on this floor. For as long as you've known her, Jasmine Fifty-Three's been drooling over the guy, never working up the confidence to make the first move. Maybe you could ask her to ask him out on a date or something. That would be both humiliating at first, but possibly she'd thank you for it later.

While they chat, you find yourself examining the news. Specifically, the bit about ECMTC negligence.

Oh dear. Looks like there were two of these horrible train accidents in East City, and East City authorities have come out with a statement that, since the train system is quite fail-safe due to its design, the only way a train could have possibly derailed is through either incredible negligence or deliberate sabotage - apparently the track in the derailment situation has been improperly maintained, possibly even sabotaged. Who would do such a thing, one must ask. And the head-on collision is even more difficult to explain, as the sheer amount of things that need to go wrong for that to happen point squarely at operator error or outright malicious intent on someone's part. As such, the government is pursuing compensation from the East City Magnetic Train Corporation, accusing them of gross negligence at the very least. ECMTC has responded by locking down its compound in central East City, allegedly to pursue an in-depth internal investigation. My, what has the world come to these days. Nobody seems safe anymore.

This does remind you though, you probably should see your therapist. It's already late afternoon, and you're not sure it receives people past the evening. You quickly excuse yourself from the table, stating your intent, and leave for your room, whereupon you sit down in the therapy chair, placing the cheap plastic helmet on your head and allowing yourself to relax as the session begins. You haven't actually done this before, so you're feeling a little nervous. Particularly when what feel like unusually comfortable restraints close around your body, settling you into a very specific seated position.

"Close your eyes, please," goes a calm, soft voice, and you do as you're told.

Despite the fact you've closed your eyes, your sight returns momentarily. You seem to be still sitting in the chair, though you lack the helmet. You seem to be alone for a few moments until the voice returns.

"Welcome, Jasmine Thyme Three Hundred Seventy Six. I notice this is your first therapy session, so you will have to specify certain parameters to formulate an optimum therapy experience. We can change these later, so don't feel pressured. Firstly, what do you picture me as? Secondly, where should we meet?"

Uh... that's interesting.

"Don't be nervous, Miss Thyme. I am here to help you, and I will try to conform to your needs as best as I can, whatever they may be. It is in both of our interests that you be as comfortable as possible so we may begin."

Make a mental note to make the loser hit on Javier.

Tell the therapist we want to meet him in a therapist's office. Picture him like this:

Your therapist said that you should regularly check the news.

Okay, so... maybe there's a hotline for such a thing? A specialist you could call and talk to, get help for your memory issue and where to go now. You do believe there should be - your therapist even gave you instructions on how to contact it, you remember.

I suppose this was a factory model, for training and debugging? And the one in our room is a different copy?

+1 to the description!

however, I suggest that instead of the office, we meet under a sprawling maple tree, on a gently sloping hill above a field of grass and flowers that extends several hundred yards down toward the seashore, where we can see several sea birds and the like, with a cool breeze wafting through the air.

+1 to the new location. Disregard my previous place suggestion.

You take a moment to put a face and location to the sound of the voice. You come up with a man, somewhat on the old side, with glasses, rather free gray hair and an equally gray beard. You think he should be wearing a white suit as well, and he should look all wise and whatnot. After all, wisdom is what being a therapist is all about. As for a location, you go with something natural, pastoral, even. A sprawling, large maple tree on a grassy, gently sloping hill, several hundred meters from a seashore, the cries of oceanic birds filling the air and a cool breeze making this generally a rather pleasant and relaxing place.

As your mind fills in the details of what you want from your therapy location, the blank room progressively dissipates, replaced by the landscape of your dreams progressively and almost organically - it feels like it has always been the way it is now, and a very palpable sense of permanency completes the scene in your imagination. You are now sitting at the foot of the maple tree you thought of moments ago. What you find impressive is not so much the sight of it as the smell - it is also perfectly replicated from your notion of what a place like this must be like, yet it feels somehow... better.

However, your appreciation is interrupted by something. A feeling that you should look elsewhere. To the right, to be more specific. When you look, you notice that the therapist is here, just as imagined, standing next to you, impassively looking into your eyes from behind his delicate spectacles.

"Very good choices, Miss Thyme," he says, sitting down comfortably and spending a moment looking at the sea before looking at you again. "How are you feeling today?"

((By the way, that was Dr. Hoffman from Trauma Center: Under The Knife.))
Tell him about the fact that our newslink shorted out and that we woke up in a chemical suit in some alley.

Also about our concern for Ms. Bartolucci.
Be noticeably calmed by the representation of our advisor.
visualize a small cake.
Visualize a flock of easels, each with an image of someone / something / some event important to us. Those most on our mind should be most prominent. Let our subconscious do most of this work, so we don't go insane with the effort.

Aw. I just realized we could've made the therapist a giant talking cake and the environment a circus.

Ask the therapist if we are allowed to use the machine for a bit of relaxation (if no one else wants to use it), as we're fairly sure that counts as improving our mental condition. If we are allowed, proceed with cake and circus.
