I'd do it myself but since I'm not an admin I can't use the search function.



Edit: Uh, nevermind. Belay that request. Turns out my ship is orbiting our homeworld. Which is odd because I was flying around in it a fair distance away...

Don't suppose there's any way to give people the ability to use just the search function is there?

Ok, I want eight search teams, one for each major constellation. Make sure they have the longest range scanners in the empire. I don't care what we have to do, get that ship back!

In the meantime, a grizzled old captain with a Russian accent is drinking alone in his stolen quarters, as he reflects on his life and wonders how is he going to survive this heist. Perhaps this time was a step too far? But what choice did he have... They are holding his son hostage.

Press t, on the right side you will notice some arrows next to certain percentages. Put reload, range and speed down to about 5% each, and then fill up damage and radius... Then take another shot.

You can NEVER have enough missiles. Be advised though, they tend to take an eon to reload, so you probably want to keep some blasters around.

Ah, I remember my 1800m+ range missile launcher. This is one of the reasons I need to join the multi server: so I can actually use stuff like that. Hard to hit stuff you can't see, but if I had someone spotting for me... Well, they are lock-ons, but still. IDEAS.

That is reset if you leave the ship. Very annoying. Just wanted to add that bit of info for others.

I was thinking about going true Macross with my carrier and installing about 800 to 1200 independent missile launchers, and that's at the low end of the scale. Each would be 1x1x70. I will be adding 4 huge launchers at the front with probably more than a thousand blocks each. Those I want tuned for speed.

I wonder if I could crash the server with that...

I only had 15 generators left over from the three pirates that attacked me. My miner ship was trashed - not completely, mind, I still had shields - but it's a miner ship, not a combat ship. Got through on sheer bulk.

This one is much less likely to meet such a fate.

It's much more likely to blow itself up due to shooting too close to the target.

Also, does the adjacency thing work across diagonals? I.e. if two rows of cannons share a corner instead of a side, will they still count as one cannon, or as two?

Max is correct. Hence you can make checkerboard weapon arrays if you want lots of separate pew in a relatively compact package.

After many setbacks, I have finally finished the first draft of the Mjolnir heavy cruiser hull !

This was made in solo play with cheated blocks, with the objective of importing and buying it in multiplayer ( I first tried to build it in multi - and actually did up to a point - but with all the lag and disconnects and rollbacks, I was losing a lot of time).

Now to the fun part : filling it with weapons, shields, reactors and all that stuff that make ships work (the current ones are placeholder).

The Mjolnir looks pretty unproportional. Try making the back a little bigger, because it looks kinda bad with just a bigass front.

By the mass its looks like it might be a Calibri in the end.

Gah, I forget which way the arrow points. The hammerhead's the front, eh? In that case, it definitely needs more rear end, so to speak.

Also, reminds me of the Starcraft Battlecruiser.
