Mining needs to be turned down... I now have a planet-eating ship. The area it mines is larger than my field of vision.
I have like 50 million credits.

to be fair guys, it IS an Alpha, shit like this happens, probably won't even be balanced until at least Beta.

although, I have to agree. Pirates should be turned the fuck down, and minerals and all that material nonsense should be turned up to like 10; shouldn't be a god damn chore to build a nice ship, it should be fun and exciting!

Make awesome unkillable ships and let pirates have them.

"Make awesome unkillable ships"

Shields seem to have a maximum effectiveness. So there is no "unkillable" ship.

But there are certainly ships that will pretty much destroy the universe.

By the way, has anyone made a deathstar, yet?

DF doesn't mold players into its image - DF merely selects those who were always ready for DF.

Minecraft UI is very simple. There's only so many ways you can implement "simple" without copying something. We also gonna complain that it uses WASD?

If only there was magma, then we could have the dwarfstar.

There is magma/lava, it just doesn't flow, it's a glowing block that hurts you if you touch it.

It's in every planet and some asteroids and the terrain section of the shops.

So there tends to be three types of ships people build.
Speeders, that is tiny ships with about two to four energy blocks and a few thrusters, and that is it, that are built to get around quickly and easily.
Long Ships, these blocky ships made of long rows of what ever they need, shields, weapons, harvesters, what ever. Often they have a layer of hull around them. Good for harvesting and fighting.
Fancy Ships, bigger ships made to look nice and show off. Not practical, but fun.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Yes  (It has three, one has two smaller docking ports).

Yes, you just need to use some docking gear and you can build a hanger on space stations, planets, asteroids, even larger ships.

Actually, interesting idea. I don't think it counts docked ships towards your ship mass. You could build a tiny ship that travels and turns quickly with a huge docking bay for your leviathan, and use it as a kind of tug boat to get around easily, then swap into the larger one when you want to blow something up.
