Unmanned, unguided logic-propelled warhead torpedoes are totally doable, making them guided is difficult because the AI doesnt necessarily go after the target you want, and the push effect needs to be able to overcome the thrust. In the end your payload would be tiny relative to total mass.
Warheads ignore shields in the current build, so a torpedo bomber can start pecking away at a ship irregardless of its shield strength, but wont penetrate far/do much in one go. You'll want a lot of warheads.
And a lot of people still seem to be building heavily shield-tanked ships with hull/armor for an aesthetic skin, not thick enough to actually act as armor. And they get pissed when you bring up warheads and torpedoes in conversation, because they feel its a cheap trick. And if you start scratching their precious flagship they might rage quit or bug out instead of trying to swat your bombers.
You can always use radar jammed/cloaked bombers in tandem with an AI fleet to help ensure you hit your mark.
You can also hit them with your own ship, if you've got say warheads on the ends of wings you can slash them with. It'd be a bit of a one-trick pony sort of deal for that particular ship, and you'd have to be the one piloting it. The AI isnt capable of understanding how to pull off a kamikaze attack.
Traditional fighters/bombers DO still work, though. A fleet of 20 ships will usually win against a ship with a total mass maybe 2-3x their own total mass, even with turrets. Swarm missiles reduce survivability a lot, but overwhelming numbers is still a viable strategy. You can control your fighters now by putting them in a fleet.
