The base is safe for non-members.
Post your in game name here and Zanzetkuken should send an invite when he sees it.

The AndreaCruiser appears to have taken a couple nasty missile hits.

Started a stealth cruiser. Seems cloaking power requirements are a lot lower on this server.

interesting read! I hate weight classification as well because it tells nothing of what a ship really does.

anyway, speaking of it, I think classification in general (not just talking about starmade here, sorry) needs to take into account the game meta - if shield grows exponentially and dps linearly, then you need no escort, just more turrets. on the other hand, if shields grew less than linearly, then having a screen of smaller high dps ship to screen cruisers become a necessity.

the interesting thing is that starmade can be all this things and more, since everything is custom in the block config.

the current elwin server meta favor middle size ships, since power grow caps to very slow linear and weapon power consumption seems more than linear (you need loads of weapons all around since ship of that size can't turn). between this middle size class, you can still have loads of different classes. a 50k mass ship can be anywhere from a cruiser or a frigate or a destroyer, depending on the actual block allocation.

I'm not sure when, or if I'm going to come back to play this more, so if anyone wants to use the blocks from either of my ships or just take them apart to get them out of the way go ahead (one is a generic wall of salvage beams, the other is the long cube with missiles on the side).

Assuming nobody has dismantled them already, of course.

interesting bug #92323

a missile apply damage in a blast radius. if you have some turrets close to the explosion, since damage is applied to all entities independently, you get shield drained on the mothership by missile damage * number of turrets covered in blast

making missiles even more damn OP

Stealth bombed a pirate on EE today. Warhead took out the front half of my ship even though I swear it was 13 meters away and offset to the upper left. Still, wiggled my no-longer-invisible power stick in the loot puddle and got an inventory full (Well, half, as I already had a bunch of junk in my inventory) of junk before running the fuck away. Strangely, the other pirate fighters completely failed to murderize me. Sold for 3 million credits. Not the worst.

You know what? If we worked in teams, in multiple cloaked ships, we'd be able to rake in a hell of a lot from this tactic. One of us to  kill the pirate, the others to help pick up the loot/pick up the slack if the current bomber times out or something, alternating. Safety rules not included :P

oh I just spam them with heat seekers, only corvettes survive the first strike and the second strike is all focused on them instamurdering linebackers and the like

wow you really need to come hunt with me, I usually leave loads of fighter to be salvaged because at this point it is more of a chore to me

Could let you borrow my Transport to pick up remains of a LoSboccacc hunt (got a fair amount of storage blocks I have in my inventory I would need to drop into it first, though).  I would be grateful if you spend at least a bit on an area in the back of it (just behind the engines) that I would like filled up with shield and power systems (though don't modify the hull if you do).  As it is cut off from the rest of the ship, I didn't put any lights in it, so if you do decide to take up this offer and also decide to fill that area, do note that you need to turn on the 'lighten' option in the Advanced build area.

please bring at least some good shielding or a permacloack, I can't guarantee one stray linebaker missile intercepting you, even if usually they go for the big target first

I've an universal docking port on the back if you want to get some shielding off me, but it won't make you invulnerable as per http://bugs.star-made.org/issues/2137

I'd love to, and I'd almost certainly be using a permacloak, but it'd have to be tomorrow evening at earliest, as I have an eye exam in half an hour that will suck up all my time.


I sincerely hope that bug gets fixed in the next version.

allegedly next version will see point defence to become super effective, so that will be at least scaled back
