You can bribe them, but if their relations with you are poor it won't get you high enough to convert. Most of them hated my guts though so I found the headsman's axe a more effective tool for restoring the faith. :P

History will remember that my one great mistake was preventing my wife from killing you when she had the chance.

How did your wife end up Sunni? Did that happen after you died?

Your other son probably would have made a great Catholic emperor had he made it to the throne. Somehow his betrothal to the Queen of Aquitaine fell through though - not sure why. I was planning to leave him alone until he had an heir with a claim from the marriage.

First wife or second wife?  I wan't paying attention to the first one and the second one was christian when I kicked it.

Yes, the second son would have made a great emperor indeed.  I was expecting him to be a second Trajan who would reunite east and west and leave Charlemagne in the dust.  Instead I got you.

If someone switched to seniority succession we could still unite Wendish and Greek dynasties.

You weirdo Christianity-lover. Your name will be a black mark in the annals of our glorious, definitely non-Abrahamic dynasty. Even Kunos I will be more highly regarded than you!

Heh, there wouldn't even have been an empire if it weren't for my conversion.  About 80% of the empire was in some sort of faction and I had crap demense.  Religious revocations were what I used to diffuse that situation.  You pagan scum should honor me as the man who saved your fleabitten religion.

I'm slightly disappointed that, despite my efforts to get the names of the first three kings to become iconic dynastic names, it's Butavas that has become a common name for our rulers.

The only thing I can think of when I read that is Butters, which is not a very royal name >.>

Butavas is a perfectly fine name ! I was kinda happy when my 3 sons died (well, sad too), and that another Butavas would inherit.

It's the most retarded name so far >.>

And guess what the name of my sons is... I guess seniority or elective is the way to go :P

A little. I put some related woman on the Byzzie Throne. Luckily managed to convert her before that. Now I just need to not get into a succession war while trying to keep the ERE throne safe as well.

I'm also going to change succession laws from gavelkind/primo ASAP. I just can't stand the name 'Butavas'. My eldest son will not inherit >.>

I lost a bunch of screenshots, and I'm not very good at writing this stuff down, so bear with me :P.

Right now the Byzantines have started another war against the empress. This time, however, most if not all of the vassals all Romuva themselves.

I never played CKII but it draws my interest. What's "de jure" and what basis does it have?

By law. Every title has a de jure liege, which may or may not be the same as the de facto liege.
