(Sorry bout the delay- busy day!)

Edna picks up one of the disks at random and tries to put it in one of the two disk drives. However, she has no idea how to operate them. You help her out, pulling down and then out on a plastic tab on the drive's front, causing the door to open violently with a loud "prKANG!". That's what you miss about old electronics; you just don't get that satisfaction with the near-silent operation of computers today.

Sliding one of the pink Sugar Byte disks into the slot, you see that it has several text files on it.

I've been like this for quite some time. I always wake up starving. I feel fine as soon as I eat, but if I even doze off for a second I wake up with the most horrible hunger in my stomach. I've been to the hospital; the doctors and nurses have nothing to say about whatever it is that afflicts me. If I keep living like this, I fear I might die.

It's been a week since I started feeling like this. I've started noticing that my hands and feet are dirty when I wake up, like I'd been crawling around outside. I have no idea what I've been doing at night, but I have the feeling that it's nothing good woof.

Edna is shifting in her seat rather uncomfortably. It would be something possibly resembling a passing acquaintance with the faintest appearance of cute, were she not working herself up to say something dramatic to further the story.

"I... I think I might have helped this guy put the spell on the disk... It was years ago. I just remember him being pretty old, and wearing a pink shirt with some words on it. "Saccharine Megabytes"? He didn't give me his name, he just wanted me to teach him how to put the spell on something. It's a spell for remote eating. The caster can control the other person and use them to eat things. He said it was for starving children in Liswandaga..."

Whatcha mean, why people? You can't just go around saying "Why" willy-nilly! If I just randomly said "Why walls?", it could destabilize the architectural roots of our entire civilization! We'd go back to living in villages man, villages!

"I didn't cast the spell, I helped somebody else cast it. I know how to remove the spell, but we need something from the caster's body to remove a spell that they've cast. An embedded spell is a bit like a bank account; we'd need a PIN number to get into a bank account, so we need a bit of the caster to remove a spell that they've cast."

Judging by the woofs, his account of eating strange things at night and mundane doctors being unable to diagnose him, you think that he might just be a jerk who does this sort of thing for fun a werecreature.

Could his shirt have said "Sugar Bytes"? I used to work at that store, and these disks he left the info on are from there. IF so, we probably find out who exactly he was, and where he lives now, or at least used to live.

Infodump commencing (I'll respond to your action Chink, and any other actions that come after, just later today when I think of some more stuff for the next few actions and a new area):

The man who put the spell on the disk is a werecreature of some kind. He went to see Edna when he realized what was happening to him. Instead of asking how to be cured, something held him back and he instead asked about remote eating spells; a kind of two-way channel that allows one person to eat using another's body. This way, he can remain a werecreature and not be caught. Edna, being a trusting soul, told him how to cast the spell despite his rather shaky lie about starving children in Lithuswanania.

In this universe, spells embedded in objects leave behind a trace of the caster, like a footprint. This acts as a sort of lock so that the spell can't be removed by other casters. Even if you know how to remove the spell, you can't unless you have a physical link to the caster's body.
