TAKE THE SOCKS ANYWAYS! GREMLINS TAKE SOCKS AND PANTS THAT FIT THE OWNER!

You feel like the world's most mundane pervert as you stuff the socks into your pocket. You hope that Edna will be at least a little annoyed at the missing footwear.

[/quote]
"Are we going to have to go find this guy and use some part of him to break the spell, do you think, Edna? Hey, that's a nice sock you got there. How are we going to fight a werewolf? Maybe we can break the werewolf curse too? Or just give him Tristan. What a jerk."

(There's only one spell on our hero right now, the same one that's turning him into a grue and all that jazz.)

Edna explains that yes, you do need something from the caster's body to remove the spell.

As you pay her a compliment about her extremely mundane grey-and-white socks, Edna blushes and blinks her absurdly long eyelashes at you, while pink haze and bubbles show up behind her and everything suddenly becomes very two-dimensional and weird.

"D-do you think my socks are- are really that pretty, Hero-chan?"

Join. I'll tidy up any silly seriousness and strange sensibilities you post.
Inquire about a hat.

You once lost a good hat to a senseless act of violence. You have sworn never to get so close to another piece of headgear again, no matter how stylish or comfortable.

The pain is too much to go through twice.

(I meant the curse that made our antagonist a werewolf - curse, disease, infection, genetics, whatever. That is, hoping to render him either harmless [relatively speaking] or at least easier to take down if necessary.).

Let's search the house for other items that may have been left behind by our Oregonite. Tell Edna that her socks suit her very well. Inquire about a spider.

((This is one of the few games on these forums I still follow. So yes someone likes it and are not losing interest.))

What about redirecting the spell into outer space? The caster is bound to die of old age before it hits anything again and hopefully that'll dissipate it.

What about redirecting it to some random animal that'd do it's best to eat everything anyway? Maybe a fish?

Since we seem to have established magic interact similarly to microwaves, maybe combining a dowsing rod and a radio triangulation somehow could help us find the culpit?

We have good reason to believe that he is in Greenfield, Oregon. If we try the radio Dowsing, we should probably prepare for the road trip first, and begin somewhere at the center of that town. I like the idea of redirecting the spell to a fish, though. Or a rabbit! Those are ... evil, sadistic monsters. Yeah, let's not redirect toward rabbits. -shudder-

Search for detective apparel. We need to find the location of the suspect in the case of the Mysterious Magical Mayhem!

What's detective apparel without a deerstalker?

Especially if they're yandere tentacles.

Hentai-land is a place in your heart, my players. Also in a few certain other places, but this board is SFW.

Let's search the house for other items that may have been left behind by our Oregonite. Tell Edna that her socks suit her very well. Inquire about a spider.

You search the house. You find a picture of an extraordinarily mundane elderly man standing on a beach; evidently a quite cold one, seeing as he's wearing two coats. The water and sky are grey. A small blue boat with a yellow racing stripe is in the water.

As you continue your sock-based flirting, Edna clutches at the hip of her pants, letting slip a red Hanes logo and more of those plain white socks as more pink haze and bubbles fill the air. "O-oh Hero-chan~"

However, the mood is quickly shattered as you ask about a spider. Edna recoils instantly, looking at the walls. Before you can even finish your statement, she quite forcefully whacks at a bit of black fluff attached to your shirt, shattering the right false ribs and jamming them through the right lung stinging a little.

((This is one of the few games on these forums I still follow. So yes someone likes it and are not losing interest.))

What about redirecting the spell into outer space? The caster is bound to die of old age before it hits anything again and hopefully that'll dissipate it.

Spells like the one afflicting our player need a specific living being defined as a target before they can be directed anywhere; they can't just go into space.

That would be quite possible. For a while, our villain might not even notice the difference.

(nice idea; +50 zorkmids!)

You could, definitely. After thinking for a while, Edna decides that you'd probably need a radio somehow modified to accept magic waves as well as radio.

Search for detective apparel. We need to find the location of the suspect in the case of the Mysterious Magical Mayhem!

On further searching, you find a quite striking deerstalker in the old man's closet. Trying it out, you find yourself quite sexy as you look in the mirror. Yeah, you'd totally wine and dine yourself. You'd take yourself back to your place, and then when the talking's over and it's time to-

"EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK"

Edna strikes the hat off your head and gibbers incoherently about spiders as she stamps the poor hat into the ground. When Edna is done with her violent rampage, you fall to your knees and cradle this poor fallen hat in your arms.

Never again.

Well, it seems like we have a few options we'd like to attempt now, gents. Which one would you guys like to go for first?

(We're probably going to wrap up the current situation in about a week or less, by my guesstimation. If we do finish soon, would you guys like The Continuing Adventures of Edna & Hero?)

You wrote the last bit of that inside the quote.
prepare for the fight scene! Gather as many direct tv satellite dishes as we can find. After this , gather as many vaguely bowl-shaped objects as we can. That'll help. Yeah. Connect them into a massive array. Link them to as many microwaves as we can. Turn the microwave to one of the more evil settings. Scramble the werewolf's brain.

Ok. Modifying a radio to accept magic. Lesse, we've established they behave like microwaves, specifically probably around the 2GHz-5GHz range that is used for communication, and also includes the frequency u8sed in microwave ovens. Audio radio channels on the other hand, even limiting ourselves to the High Frequency ones, use 30MHz-300MHz. So basicaly we need to convert the radio to listen to frequencies one or two orders of magnitude higher than it's made to.  ...wait no dammit ok wikipedia is being confusing apparently there some AM/FM distinction that matters a lot and I have no idea how any of this works sorry. Whatever, just try ri9ping out the capacitor in the radio and replacing it with a much stronger one, and put in some magical power source where the normal batteries should be.

AM is amplitude modulation, so it checks the height of the waves. FM is frequency modulation, so it checks the length of the waves. So if you are increasing the hertz of radio waves, the amplitude shouldn't matter.
Wikipedia mentions that WiFi uses low intenity microwave radiation. Let's tap into that. To the Hot Spot! Bring our magically delicious Lucky Charms(TM), and a dreamcatcher. maybe we can modify the catcher to be a caster. With marshmallows.

You carry a bag of off-brand marshmallow cereal (the kind that always gives you the most horrific breath) along as Edna picks out an especially ornate dreamcatcher from her vast collection of hand-made articles. "A dreamcatcher is normally a passive device that works on its own- there's nothing special about it except its shape," she says, munching on the bag of cereal that you dutifully carried along. "But, the shape is very important- geometry has very powerful magical properties. Certain kinds of energy can react different ways depending on the shapes they encounter.

"The circle is the most fundamental shape of magical geometry," Edna says, making a circle motion around the edge of the dreamcatcher. "A circle is like a bowl or a funnel- a place for energy to go into and come back out again. Since dreamcatchers hang in the air instead of being drawn on the ground, they act like a hole that magic can pass through. However, the important part is the web." Edna begins poking her fingers through the holes in the dreamcatcher's web. You try not to giggle at the extremely immature visual pun.

"See how these holes are squares? Any four-sided shape acts like a barrier. That's why walls and doors have always been rectangles. This is the part that stops bad dreams." Edna then points at the inner parts of the web. "These parts are triangles. Triangles act like vacuums- they pull magic in a direction. Certain sizes of triangles pull certain kinds of magic. This is why dreams come through the catcher instead of just going around." Edna peeks at you through the center of the web. "Finally, in the middle, we have another hole- where the good dreams go through."

Set up a small field of free-standing triangles inside of a circle around the game disk of the correct size to attract the curse on the disk. Then, set up more freestanding squares in a circle outside of the circle of triangles. Hopefully, this will draw the curse out, block it, draw it back in, draw it back out again, etc. so that the curse is basically nullified, so long as the circles remain undisturbed.

To do this however, you have to play the game. The spell needs to come into the disk before it can be trapped in there.
