Yes but I didn't actually play dnd basic. In fact when I first started playing pen and paper RPGs 3.5 was out.

I wonder if Steam is going to do more arcade-to-PC port like this?

A line of nostalgia hammers are hanging over my wallet...

But seriously, you were the one that complained that this game was responsible for the trend of making races and classes the same, which was pointed as coming from old D&D, upon which you mentioned you never played old D&D, which doesn't stop the game from taking the tropes from that which it was based, that is, old D&D, which includes races as classes.
