Yep. It's like castle doctrine BUT it's a hack and slash RPG.
Also i assume it's not permadeath and there are less build options that might screw everyone the second they make a wrong step with a horde of hungry pitbulls.

Why not to touch this with a ten foot pole:

A trailer that explains nothing.
Not knowing what an "epic" is.
Use of OMG.

I get your disdain for it, but many people would have a sense of humor about it and even might have some curiosity. It's not a serious game. It's about fun and humor and it's trailer conveys that pretty well.

I took it to be intentionally over the top and ridiculous...

You would be right. For example, in the tutorial, the first enemies you run into are chickens wearing pots on their heads and chasing you wileding spatulas while you attack with a sword and wearing heart shaped boxers only. The next enemy is a well armored hamster in a ball of death roaming around in your path. It's ridiculous, funny and F2P. Closed beta, but pretty easy to get in.

Read an RPS article on it that implied you could actually build some pretty nasty defenses that required some skill/thought to get through. Their example was lining a hall with a specific kind of trap that caused knockback, making it way more superior to other traps that didn't have knockback.

A couple of years back I signed up for testing at Ubisoft, I only ended up going once before I moved out of the city but I'm pretty sure it was for this game.

It was interesting, they showed us art assets from the game and asked us questions about it. For example if they showed us a picture of a trap they'd ask us what we think it would do. I had completely forgotten about it until now.

I don't know how much I can say, because it's a closed beta. I don't remember signing a NDA but I don't want to get turned in by someone from these forums.

Well what do you know, I just got an invitation to the closed beta. Might well try it, but my gaming time is dwindling while my library grows...

I already reported you, also the NSA is always listening, so you might as well tell us a little more, at what stage is it? is it GOOD as in worth to play? can you chose clases?

There are 3 classes right now. Warrior with a bunch of skills. Archer with the usual traps and attacks. A wizard, who is only immediately available if you are a paid supporter of the F2P game.  There is supposed to be other ways to unlock him though and there are more characters planned.

It's fun, entertaining and relatively bug free for me. It plays well on my desktop as well as my laptop. I am going away for a few days and am actually bummed that my internet won't be fast enough to play.

I have to say, this looks pretty fun.  How likely is it that I'll be added to the closed beta, if you had to guess?  Also, what's the ETA on actual release?

OK, I have to reload the save.
There was a bit of a problem regarding flashfreezing, a ballistae, and a barrel of dwarven ale. Gonna fix it up.
