I discovered today that Baleful Gigginoxes can drop large wyvern tears despite not having eyes.

The military is all gathered in one huge mass on top of the ramp to the mountaintop, where the entrance is. Apparently they spend their time taking potshots at owls, pushing babies off the ledge, and giggling.

Gigginoxes totally have eyes. What else would they use for their heat-based vision?

I was gonna make a joke about how eyes aren't the only place tears can come from but I lost it midway.

Minor gunlance progress report: treating it like the shield isn't there really helped me. I just picked up the World's Demise GL while wearing my SNS set (Sharpness +1, Evasion +1, Evade Extender, Speed Sharpening as mentioned before) and took on an Azure Rathalos for funsies, and felt like I was doing a lot better. I also tried to keep shelling down because of my lack of boosts for it. Previously I'd been using the shots as a main attack, which didn't go very well for me.

And earlier, I didn't mean to say that I never used the shield on SNS. Of course I use it for roars or "I'm screwed" attacks like Ivory Lagiacrus' instant lightning aura. It's just I don't use it on major attacks like Diablos charges, Duramboros tailspins, or Narga rushes. I also maintain it's very dfficult to roll through attacks, except for super quick or minor ones.

Unless the MoI frames have been changed dramatically since Tri, I can say from some experience (100 hours of playtime using MoI) that it's really, really not that hard. The trick is to roll just before you get hit - the frames begin just after you press the button and they don't last a really long time, but they were enough to dodge all but ~3 attacks in the game without any evade boosts.

I'm using the barroth s (I think) set for gunlance. Not sure what I gemmed it for anymore as I haven't played in quite a while. Let's say that set, combined with a brachydios gunlance is awesome. I mostly aim for legs and then stab, stab, dodge left or right, repeat

Man, I totally thought snakes used their eyes to see infrared. So is the gigginox's purple glowy face thing its heat sensing organ or is it just a marking that's supposed to look like eyes?

I have no idea if they maintained it in any of the games past the first, but Khezu having no eyes had a neat effect. It was the only wyvern in the game who you never got the "eye" icon for when it knew where you were.

Led to a few surprise Khezu ceiling glomps when you weren't expecting it.

Giginnox "see" heat so yeah, it has the eye icon. Khezu is the only one who uses smell exclusively.

I did heard you become less of a priority target if you use cold drink.

mmkay. hopefully one will come out for xbox 360 or ps4, but I don't think Nintendo will ever allow that ;-;
There are some pretty similar games out there, like Toukiden (the demo at least) or Soul Sacrifice, though the amount of similarity could vary depending on who you ask.
Well how similar would you say it is? I'd trust your opinion more than anyone else's.

Please don't trust my opinion because I don't own a PSP of any kind and haven't played any of them. Here are some thoughts by a Reddit user about Toukiden compared to MH. I can't find any other similar reviews or things like that right now, sorry.

Are we talking about PSP Monster Hunter games?
Freedom Unite and the games before are stupidly hard, just fair warning.

Stupidly hard is the area in which I thrive.

MGS Extreme All-Tags No-Kill runs, Dark Souls LVL1 playthroughs, and FF one character runs are my bread and butter.

It's stupidly hard in the sense that "Goddamn hip-check! I was no where near there."

After playing P3rd and 3U, the older games are unforgiving in terms of dodging. The hitbox are HUGE. I still fear the Tigrex rape train.
